As you've probably noticed, the #WorldCupFantasy rules are not written great at all...

Some things are uncertain and we may be in for a couple of surprises 😬😅

Issue Nr.01 - The Captain ©️ 🔽
Usually (in #UCLFantasy) we are able to make a captain change each day.

The rules here suggest only 1 change may be possible. I'm not entirely sure this is the case though.

Could we be able to change the 2nd ©️ "once more" as well 🤔
Issue Nr.02 - Substitutions

Able to sub "a player". Does this mean we can only sub 1 player? 🤔

If so, a good bench would make less sense for sure.

Like in #UCLFantasy, I'm thinking we can sub in the whole bench though, or at least that's what I'm hoping for 😅
Issue Nr.03 - 12th man/boosters

1st up, it seems like we can activate the boosters once the tournament has started - after the 1st deadine...
There's no booster button available for now anyway.

12th man sounds a bit confusing... 🔽
... so we can pick an additional player, who is not in our squad yet, as our 12th man? 🤔 Probably best for a star player we only want in a certain single MD?

What are your thoughts about all of this #FPLCommunity? Seen many different opinions!

After going through all the #WorldCupFantasy teams, I'll now go through each position, starting with defenders 🛡

🇳🇱 Dumfries (6.0m)
1st up on my list, he'll certainly be in a lot of teams despite his premium price. Scored twice ⚽️ at the Euro and has the group to deliver again.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Trippier (5.0m)
Looks like the favourite to start at RB for now, and offers attacking threat (also from set pieces) in an easy looking group.

🇦🇷 Otamendi (5.0m)
Also a cheap starter with favourable fixtures & goal threat from set pieces/corners. Faces Saudi-A in the 1st game.
🇫🇷 Pavard (5.0m)
Looks like starting at RB and offers a cheap route into a great defence.

🇩🇰 Maehle (4.5m)
Probably one of the best defensive picks in the #WorldCupFantasy game. 7 goals ⚽️ 5 assists 🅰️ in his last 20 games for Denmark. Great CS chances too. #EUROFantasy hero!

And here's the final (team) one! In this thread I'll now have a look 🔎 at the #WorldCupFantasy options from... England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

England came close to 🏆 glory in 2018 & at last summers Euro, and definitely have the group to be a great source of fantasy points.

In goal, Pickford (5.5m) is very likely to start once again. Pope (4.0m) looks 2nd in line, his price would have made him incredible value 🥲

At LB/LWB Shaw (5.0m) should start with Trippier (5.0m) being the favoured option on the right side.
Trippier is having an excellent...
... (#FPL) season, making him a tempting option! 🔥

Depending on formations either two or three centre back's will be deployed, who could all offer some threat from set pieces.

In central mid, Bellingham (7.5m) & Rice (6.5m) are the favourites to start, but may not offer much..

Let's now have a look 🔎 at the #WorldCupFantasy options from... Mexico! 🇲🇽

Mexico, who beat Germany at the last World Cup, will face Poland in their opening game. A game that is hugely important for their chances in Group C.

In goal, once again, Ochoa (5.0m) will be the prefered starter. He has shown quite some heroics at past tournaments, but it's probably better to look elsewhere.

At full back, Gallardo (4.5m) and K.Alvarez (no price yet) seem to be the starters, but they're looking like risky...
... picks with Arteaga (no price...) & J.Sanchez (4.0m) also being around.

Moreno (no price either 😅) should be the most secure starter at CB.

Personally I would probably avoid their defence all together considering possible rotation and games v Poland & Argentina.

Before I'll have a scan through the most promising #UCLFantasy forwards, I'll now have a look at chip strategies.

The way the fixtures have fallen, there's no obvious best strategy, making things quite interesting.

1. LWC2, WC3

Probably the most common strategy.

The big pro with this one is we can field a strong MD1 team without having to plan for MD2 etc.
WC3 is very powerful as well as MD3+4 consists of the same (very easy in some cases) set of fixtures.
WC3 seems especially good for the teams here, who have a good run from MD3-MD6. Triple Real, Trent, Salah, Haaland, Spurs, PSG fwd... all could do the trick here.

Up next, the most promising #UCLFantasy picks...

⚽️🅰️ Midfielders

🇪🇬 Salah €11.0m - Tricky to afford with all the pricey picks up front, but a kind group for the #FPL legend.
🇨🇴 Diaz €9.0m - The cheaper alternative, but more rotation risk once Jota is back.

🇧🇪 de Bruyne €10.5m - A great start to the season for KDB & City, but a tricky trip to Sevilla. Should do really well in this group though.

🇰🇷 Son €10.5m - No goals so far this season, but #UCL MD1 sounds like a good opportunity to change that. Differential captain option.
🇸🇪 Kulusevski €7.5m - The cheaper Spurs pick who has already delivered in #FPL GW1. Might be a better fit considering the team structure.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Sterling €9.5m - 3 goals in the last 2 matches. Could be a fantastic differential against Zagreb + Salzburg on MD1+2.

Let's now have a look at the most promising #UCLFantasy...

🛡 Defenders

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 TAA €6.5m - Already a #FPL legend, he comes in at a premium price. Even though Liverpool look leaky atm, his attacking potential may well be worth it once again.

🇵🇹 Cancelo €6.5m - An away trip to Sevilla may not be an ideal start, but the City defence is quite likely to deliver again. He also was the top scoring defender of the past #UCLFantasy season.

🇳🇱 Ake €4.5m (rotation) or 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Walker €5.5m could offer cheaper alternatives here.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Tavernier €6.0m - Definitely a bit more pricey than expected for but the Rangers penalty taker got a huge amount of attacking returns over the last few seasons. #UCL may be a tougher task though.

🇭🇷 Perisic €6.0m - Goal, assist and CS potential v Marseille. Rotation risk?!
