📍Surging Infections—Sexually transmitted diseases & infections rose in 4 counties after an Iowa law forced abortion clinics there to close. Defunding abortion clinics resulted in a reduction of STD and STI services— contributing to increased infections.

2) Flashback: In 2017, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland announced it was closing clinics after the Iowa Legislature passed a bill that blocked public money from going to abortion providers… Those clinics combined saw more than 14,600 patients over a three-year period.
3) State of play: The study examined chlamydia and gonorrhea cases between Iowa counties that did and didn't close their clinics.

18) Just own look at @LillyPad’s CEO salary tells you how wrong it is to have his annual +$1 million pay raise to $20 million/ year all while poor people with diabetes have to choose food vs their insulin.

Dear Political Pundits—you have all underestimated one key race that may determine House control—CA 3rd was rated “likely R” & ignored all year, but in the latest batch of 11k mail-in ballots, @DrKermitJones just closed gap by 1%—still 100k ballots to count! Kermit could flip it! ImageImage
I know @DrKermitJones’s race very well & have been watching it like a hawk. It’s not a super R District. It’s only an R+6. Lauren Boebert’s District is an R+8. So this is definitely within reach considering this is not a deep red part of CA. I think the numbers can work to flip.
3) What infuriates me is that DCCC all but ignored CA-3 District until the end. They got red to blue District label only very late. And @CookPolitical rated it a “LIKELY R” even though registration was only R+5 and it has no incumbent! It may goto recount—kermitjonesforcongress.com

UPDATE—Just learned that Eli Lilly executives are raging and furious at losing $20 billion in market cap from this stunt with @TwitterBlue. It’s too bad they don’t see their own damn insulin price gouging as the actual problem. Karma @LillyPad, karma. ImageImage
2) let this sink in— “Eli Lilly’s current estimated markup on Humalog between 4,359% and 5,977%.”— that’s 43x-60x price gouging markup!!!

3) Eli Lilly’s insulin products sold $878 million in one quarter alone recently. Again lilly’s main insulin is at 43-60x price markup! It’s almost all profit!

Lilly, Novo & Sanofi together supply 100% of all insulin in the US, and 90% of entire world!
