[🧵] While the entire media is focused on the appointment of COAS, brilliant and intrepid reporter @Akbar_notezai, has produced a scathing exposè of the financial corruption of Sanjranis in the Saindak mining project in #Balochistan. 1/n loksujag.com/story/The-curi…
The report reveals that Saindak Metals Limited (SML) is involved in massive under-invoicing of Copper exported to #China. 53 MT Copper is recorded for every trailer, carrying 65 MT to Karachi for further transportation to China. 2/n
Once the trucks carrying more blocks of Copper than the figure recorded were stopped by NAB but after a few days, they had to let them go because of pressure from the Chinese ambassador (@CathayPak), alleges the report. 3/n
The report also alleges that Sanjranis privately extracted iron ore from another mountain in the Saindak area with the help of locals and sold it to Pakistan Steel Mills. This was an illegal act. 4/n
The Saindak-Taftan railway line was deliberately destroyed for illegitimate gains to be made by Al-Sadiq Goods Transport is owned by Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, which transports Copper from Saindak to Karachi. 5/n
The report also alleges that @Senator_Baloch reportedly stopped pursuing the Saindak case after his brother was given the Rs.130 million contract of the Juzzak Airstrip in Saindak. This allegation was denied by Sana Baloch. 6/n
Moreover, Raziq Sanjrani (younger brother of Sadiq Sanjrani) was made MD of SML in 2008, when He was just 24 years old. For the MD of Saindak, the required work experience is 25 years including 10 years in n a large mining industrial unit. 7/n
Senate chairman is now striving to have his brother Raziq appointed ambassador to an Arab state so that NAB cases against him in the Sanidak matter can go away.
Truly, the Saindak project has propelled the Sanjrani family’s dizzying, and questionable, rise to prominence. [End]

GOB has allocated Rs4.5 billion for #Covid_19 response, which can be sufficient if spent wisely and honestly. The spending on building quarantine centers in the last few months had a lot of irregularities. 1/7
The health budget has been increased to Rs31 bn, which includes procuring an air ambulance for 2.5 bn. This is again a questionable move because it hints that GOB prefers airlifting serious patients to Karachi and not develop quality hospitals in #Quetta. 2/7
There is no significant plan for Post-COVID economic recovery apart from the announcement of 6,840 job vacancies. Given the track record of previous years, it would be nearly impossible to hire on all these announced vacancies. 3/7
