Trek doesn’t always do leitmotifs, but “Without Help” from ST5 does a fantastic job juggling several: two for Sybok (including the 4 notes Goldsmith would use through Nemesis), the main theme, and the Klingons
Chattaway’s score for “Chain of Command” does an excellent job showing the psychological torment Picard goes through. “One Tough Captain” shows his final triumph over Madred but also how he’s haunted by the experience
Not innovative in terms of all music, but Giacchino’s use of solo piano in “London Calling” from Star Trek Into Darkness is nearly unique in #StarTrek (aside from possibly only “Ilia’s Theme” in TMP)
Almost used this for Day 21—Russo’s Red Angel Theme from S2 of #StarTrekDiscovery is one of my favorite motifs from the show. It can be heard towards the end of the cue “Gone” around 3:30 & is the centerpiece of “Ready”
