In 2019 at the the U.N. Human Rights Council, I began a speech by reading out the names of tyrannies that had just spoken. The Chair, @nazhatskhan, summarily cut me off and ended my speech. Now she’s a top official at the ICC. /3

BREAKING: Palestinians perpetrate multiple terrorist attacks in Israel’s capital Jerusalem during morning rush hour, wounding 15, four critically. I am in Geneva at the United Nations Human Rights Council and they will say and do nothing.

The first explosion occurred at 7:05 on Sha'are Jerusalem Street at the exit of the city. A bomb was placed near a bus stop. Half an hour later, another explosion at a bus stop at Ramot junction. The injured were taken to hospitals. Police are searching other bus stops. /2

In less than 48 hours, here in Geneva the United Nations Human Rights Council will for the first time hold a special session on Iran and establish a Fact-Finding Mission to probe regime abuses. Will it stop the massacres? No. But it's one more straw to break the camel's back.
I predict the resolution will pass by a majority of 18 votes to 12, with 17 abstaining. German Foreign Minister @ABaerbock took the lead to convene the session and she will be here to address the meeting, as will I. Here's the text of the draft resolution: unwatch.org/draft-resoluti…

BREAKING: For the first time in history the United Nations Human Rights Council will hold an emergency session on #Iran. We are demanding the creation of an international Commission of Inquiry, and a formal call to expel the Islamic Republic from the UN’s top women’s rights body.
First, I commend German Foreign Minister @abaerbock for leading more than 40 countries to initiate this international assembly, which will take place here in Geneva on November 24th. /2
