#VivahPanchami thread. Why did Shri Ram marry Mata Sita & what does it signify?
Tulsidas describes it as:
देखि सीय सोभा सुखु पावा। ह्रदयं सराहत बचनु न आवा।।
जनु बिरंचि जब निज निपुनाई। बिरचि बिस्व कहं प्रगटि देखाई।।

It means, seeing Sita, Ram was delighted. He was all praise for her in his heart; but said nothing. Her beauty seemed to him as if Brahma had presented the whole world’s beauty before his eyes.
Sita on the other hand kept praying to Paravati & wished Ram to be her husband.

Spiritual Significance:
Dashrath (Ten Chariots) represent 5 sense organs & 5 organs of action.
Ram represents pure form of Atman, i.e consciousness. Sita means Earth & represents मन (mind).
3/6
When Ram married Sita, the marriage represents: Pure Light merging with the Mind, which gives birth to the human body.
When Consciousness (Ram) merges with mind (Sita), conflicts arise. Both enter the dark forest of attractions & distractions (वनवास).
4/6
The whole Itihaas of Ramayan revolves around the re-union of the Mind with Consciousness.
Ram & Sita aren't merely two separate individuals. Sita is his reflection & Ram is Sita’s power of action. Their physical manifestation reflects a deeper unity between the two.

भुवन चारिदस भरा उछाहू। जनकसुता रघुवीर बिआहू।।
सुनि सुभ कथा लोग अनुरागे। मग गृह गलीं संवारन लागे।।
This means that everywhere there was an atmosphere of happiness. Ram & Sita got married & people started decorating the entire city.
Only Ananda prevails 🙏🏽

Another mention in Bhagavat Puran says that Yashoda & Nand went to a holy place in Kurukshetra, where they saw Krishna.
Krishna never went back to meet Yashoda.
Krishna, being Bhagwan himself, was above Maya of this world. He had no mother & no father.
2/5
He himself was the father and mother to all.
Yashoda being a normal human, suffered deeply.
Another story suggests that Krishna came to meet her when she was on the deathbed. She was happy to see her Kanha after so many years but regretted not attending his marriages.
While my ultimate destination was #Badrinath , one of my halts were at Rudraprayag. When I was making my way to Sangam, where Alaknanda meets Mandakini, I was surprised to see a Gurukul here.

This Gurukul has the capacity of 40 children. It not only teaches children free of cost but also gives them accommodation and meals at no charge.
At the moment, it covers the primary section. For further studies, they go to Kashi.

"Shri 108 Swami Sacchidanand Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya" teaches Veda, Vedant, Purana, Jyotish vidya, Artha Shastra, Vigyan & Civics and all that in Sanskrit & Hindi/English.
They later can choose their subject of choice for graduation and post graduation.
I've been on a pilgrimage to Badrinath. Like everyone else on a pilgrimage, I've had various kinds of experiences: some pleasant, some unpleasant & some behind which one can discern a divine hand.
However, something that has struck me the most is the amazing work of Adi Shankaracharya aimed at rejuvenation of Sanatan Dharma & unification of its different traditions.
The pilgrimage begins at the holy city of Rishikesh. There's an ancient 🛕 of Tryambakeshwar i.e of Shivji.
At this place Adi Shankaracharya has built temples to several other dieties, Gods and Goddesses too, exemplifying his passion for unifying different sects of Sanatan Dharma (Incidentally, now this ancient temple is renovated into a grand, modern, 13 - storeyed structure).
There is an ancient temple in #Kerala, India made famous by thieves.
Four times in recent history, thieves stole the temple idol but returned it as they could not go far with it.
The reasons they gave, makes the story even more intriguing.
Mridanga Saileswari 🛕 is a temple at Muzhakunnu, Kannur district in the southern state of Kerala.
The 🛕 is among the 108 temples believed to have been established by Sage Parashuram. There is a story behind the temple getting the name “Mridanga Saileswari”.
Mridangam is a percussion instrument from India of ancient origin.
In ancient Hindu sculpture, mridangam is often depicted as the instrument of choice of Hindu deities like Ganesh & Nandi, the vehicle and follower of Shivji.
