Exactly 83 years ago Soviet Union launched its invasion of Finland, that would later be known as the #WinterWar.
105 days of brutal fighting would follow and result in USSR capturing barely enough land to bury their 126k dead soldiers.

These are Finnish made Pasi XA-180/185 APCs in Finnish army configuration.

So it's a distinct possibility that the Finnish aid to Ukraine included armored vehicles

Finland is procuring new 6x6 APC from Patria, so replenishing Finnish stocks wouldn't be a problem.

A short war history thread about a cannon.
This 1938 Railway gun TM-3-12 was originally built in the USSR by using the salvaged guns from the Battlship Imperatritsa Mariya.
Imperatritsa Mariya was destroyed by a magazine explosion in Sevastopol in 1916. It's guns were originally built in 1912.
The Railway gun was used against Finland in the 1939-40 Winter War and then stationed at the occupied Hanko Peninsula. Finland captured the gun in 1941. By then the barrel had worn out. Where to get a new one?

Finnish ex-President, who called Putin her friend, @TarjaHalonen is still unable to get grips with reality. Says that the Baltic countries joined NATO because "They missed the Warsaw Pact". Still opposes long term sanctioning of Russia. 1/3

One explanation to this behavior is that she was investigated in Finland for connections to the East German secret police STASI. Whose old contacts were passed along to the KGB and then FSB.

If that is the case, Russia is mobilizing it's assets into an anti-NATO information operation in Finland.
Or she could just be incredibly stupid.
You can make the call here.

Finnish President @niinisto:
Finland and USA will begin a serious process to deepen their security and defense co-operation.
Biden confirmed that #NATO open doors policy is still active.
Other nordic countries will participate in the process with the USA.
No clear statement of US security guarantees to Finland.

Quick take on the situation in #Kazakhstan. The rapid escalation took all sides by surprise. The military seems to be staying loyal and this is now enforced by the foreign special forces and rapid reaction forces entering Kazakstan.

While the uprising was initially successful, it lacked a clear leadership and a strategy that could lead to a quick victory as is common with spontaneous uprisings escalating on the spot. Geography makes gaining enough control to constrict government movement impossible. 2/4
The broad participation from other CSTO countries and the bulk of Kazakh security forces staying in line means that Russian forces deployed to Kazakstan do not significantly reduce their operational capabilities on other fronts. 3/4

This official Russian line is a complete lie. In 1939 USSR was allied with the Third Reich and the secret Molotov-Ribbentrop pact placed Finland into the Soviet hands. Germany refused to help Finland and blocked military aid to Finland during Winter War.
In fact the German Navy had a secret submarine base operating in the USSR during the Winter War. German military operations were done from Soviet soil as their ally.
