China is protesting how a QR code dominates their lives in a digital dictatorship (& more)
Well, let’s review #Nevada in a 🧵.
Our government just created one with their vac database (a bunch of private medical info they have no right to) Image
They did this in anticipation for “airports” in specific, saying they might require proof of vac.
To be clear, our government imagined we might need to be drugged, compliant with a mandate and require a QR code to travel.
Sound familiar? 🤔 Image
Then Gov Sisolak apparently colluded when he announced his latest edicts and hours later the Raider’s came out saying they had a plan that perfectly matched up… the digital QR system was piloted NFL style.
…& AG Aaron Ford threatened criminal charges for using fake cards. ImageImageImage
“Destination of CHOICE” was somehow used un-ironically here. Sisolak didn’t take the passport system off the table & “hours later” Raiders announce their plan, that was made possible by his directive.
Also, they stupidly thought vac meant can’t get sick/ transmit, scrapped mask. ImageImage
And, the Biden admin had their ways of coercive polices, working on their own passport. Idk why some people voted for this, except they didn’t realize how much of a threat to privacy and liberties these systems create. Image
In Canada, it’s reported that a ton of personal information was to be included in the digital health passport.
Back to Nevada, Sisolak mandated the drug or testing & masks for state workers and they championed major employers who did similar stuff voluntarily and having nothing to do with pressure from gaming regulators and bureaucrats 😉

Just kidding— the Gaming Board told all the “private” major employers what they could do the entire time. They are all appointed by the Governor.

Meanwhile, they discriminated against religious institutions (kinda like China would) and we had lawsuits to rectify. One I got the ball rolling on through protest followed by coalition building and campaigns to legal groups. We got to SCOTUS & narrowly lost. Good dissent, though Image
For me, there’s not a ton of difference in the PCR lines in China, and the ones our teachers stood in. In their passport, and the ones piloted in our state. In the yellow code on their phone, or our teachers’.
They did that in Nevada, too. ImageImage
Teachers in long lines awaiting forced government testing. Image
Some testing wasn’t even based on anything other than lottery. Then you had to undergo a diagnostic medical procedure because of some government BINGO game. Image
Sisolak activated our National Guard for two years.
Do I take issue with our National Guard? No.
Do I like the police state optics while an executive ruling by whim calls in his militia? Also, no. Image
I’ll cut this thread off here and spare you of when tourists were told to come and locals were told to stay home, or Sisolak telling jurnos & bloggers to stop criticizing him, and the Northshore scandal… they were willing to do anything they could get away with & they did.
Oh, I guess I should say that Nevadans protested. Aside the religious freedom Easter ones I organized leading to lawsuit, I attended this one which was large— cool pics in article.

Spencer was arrested for “disturbing the peace” by protesting with a megaphone at Sisolak’s vax lottery— was very political prisoner.
The resisting arrest charge was dropped. ImageImage
I’ll end here— I do not deny that Spencer & I made the naughty list that year.
But, Sisolak made the one-term Governor list this year.
Cheers 🥂 Image

Elon Musk live in spaces:
Elon accuses SBF of being on stimulants during conversation that was supposed to be about Twitter:
Taking about himself & not asking questions about transaction, talking at speed of auctioneer, set off Elon’s BS meter.
Asked about Assange & Snowden. Elon takes no hard position, doesn’t know enough about it.
Mod asks Elon to take a poll on Twitter about it and he agrees.
There is talk about Elons safety & being “under pressure” which he says he’s under pressure every day anyway.

He said he would be doing no open air parades.

Twitter will push other social media and media companies to compete to be more truthful, or they will lose viewers.

I’m proud of the nonpartisan work done in rejecting Ventura County’s ballot measures that would interfere with domestic production in a highly regulated CA industry. Grateful to have the support of labor unions on that initiative too. USA needs energy production & independence
I encourage consumers to boycott Patagonia for their multi-million dollar role & tactics in an attempt to grant a simple majority of County Supervisors new powers over production that would have implications far beyond their districts. We need a thriving industry, not overlords.
If not produced in CA, it’s delivered on tanker. Some from Alaska but also foreign nations entrenched in geopolitical issues. And, if environment & labor practices are your concern, be assured California & US have high standards beyond what you will find in many nations.

This will be my most offensive post of the day; I want to redraw the boundaries of what is considered the Midwest. I’m really a Missouri girl, truth be told— and it’s as middle as it gets so I will claim expertise here.
I’m redistricting Great Lakes states.
1/
You can decide what to call your region but Southern Canada is in the running. I’m taking Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois & Nebraska (plus Arkansas). I will take Indiana if the Great Lakes states agree to taking Ohio. They are obligated to the Dakotas as part of South Canada
2/
As for Arkansas, I’m taking it as culturally relevant to the Ozarks and giving Oklahoma to the South West as Northern Texas.

There is no better solution. Midwesterner’s from Great Lakes & Rust Belt have few commonalities in language, history or culture to farms & Bible Belt. 3/

Student loan debate:
-the loans are mostly federally initiated, since ACA (taxpayer money)
The biggest issue is the gov is acting as a bank, these are high risk loans (clearly) & inflating the cost of education.
I don’t care about relief discussion as much as reform.
It’s a federal bail out, under the guise of being really nice because obviously disappearing debt does help people to some degree.
The government took your money & made a bunch of bad loans while making education more expensive bc anyone can get big loans they can’t repay…
My concerns are
1) if executive action is legal
2) are they going to privatize loans?

They made the taxpayer the lender & guarantor… and the borrower.
What could go wrong?! 🤡🌎

I made my first AOC meme about her vote on the rail strike. Image
The psychology behind that is really weird. Sanders and Warren are NO in union solidarity. I’m no because the government shouldn’t write private sector contracts to avert legal strike.
AOC votes to impose, but adding sick pay bill, to impose more instead of letting them strike…
You need to note who uses government as a means to and end and who is applying principles.
It’s not in my interest to vote NO. Supply, costs, Christmas—like everyone else.
I just think it was a private sector matter and if the strike is legal, it’s legal, considered a “right”

I don’t even like Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders but at least they stood by their version of “principles”. What world is this that I have to type sentences like that one?!
Where was Sinema on that?
Also disappointed in GOP. I don’t care that you’re pro-economy, I want you to be free market.
China is pro-economy. That’s not special.
