🗣 Declan Rice: “I feel like I really want to keep pushing. I see my friends here, who are playing Champions League, winning the big trophies. You know you only get one career…”

West Ham are resigned to losing Rice in 2023.

🎥 via @footballdaily

As previously reported, Chelsea really want Rice (always been a priority) and believe a summer move may be possible for under £75 million. Multiple EPL clubs looking. Don’t rule out #LFC. #MUFC keen. No clear frontrunner yet because Rice expecting plenty of concrete interest.
Rice wants #UCL football and is happy to wait until the end of the season to see who has it. West Ham hoping for a bidding war. But the price he’ll go for will be significantly less than what they were quoting last summer.
West Ham knew their valuation was well above market value. This was intentional to fend off suitors. But now the club are reluctantly planning for an exit and intent on getting the best possible price.

Javier Tebas is presenting a KPMG report into the threat of a European Super League to LaLiga. KPMG estimate if Real Madrid and Barcelona join other LaLiga clubs will see a 55% decline in revenue. "The big clubs would benefit to the detriment of the rest." Image
KPMG calculate that domestic leagues account for 75% of revenue in European football (€25bn). And Tebas says a European Super League would have a "detrimental impact" on LaLiga, "draining" the league and its clubs of finances. Image
Tebas says the "elitist" ESL is proposing the same model they first presented in 2019 despite ESL organisers stating it will now be a meritocracy-based one. KPMG estimate an ESL would reduce the value of domestic leagues by over 45%. Image

More on Al-Nassr's mega-offer to Cristiano Ronaldo. Talks began over the summer & Ronaldo felt timing wasn't quite right. But he never said no. Al-Nassr already had the framework of a deal in place & were quick to retable a written offer as soon as Ronaldo became a free agent.
Al-Nassr are optimistic Ronaldo will sign until June 2025 but nothing will be agreed (or has been signed yet) before Portugal's World Cup ends. However, Ronaldo has verbally told Al-Nassr the move is appealing. He certainly won't get a better financial offer.
Ronaldo could earn up to £180 million per season all-in, although the base wage is closer to £60 million. Pretty gettable incentives, image rights and endorsements are expected to take his annual earnings much higher.

Juventus officially confirm their entire board has resigned. They acknowledge "the so-called 'salary manoeuvres' of the financial years 2019/2020 and 2020/2021" adding that "the complexity of such profiles on valuation elements may be subject to different interpretations." Image
Statement adds "the Board of Directors’ members, given the centrality and the relevance of the pending legal and technical/accounting matters, considered in the best interest of the Company that Juventus provided itself with a new Board of Directors to address these matters."
Juventus have appointed Maurizio Scanavino as general manager and he has asked CEO Maurizio Arrivabene to stay on until a new board is formed.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi tells @business PSG are considering leaving the Parc des Princes. Moving to the Stade de France is a possibility. “Paris deserves a better stadium. My first option is we don’t move. But the city of Paris is pushing us to move.”
Khelaifi says he has three options. One is buying the national stadium. French Government are encouraging this. Told the other two are new sites close to the Parc de Princes.
PSG don’t own the Parc des Prince and although they want to undertake a €500m stadium expansion at it (creating a 60,000 capacity) they won’t do so unless they own the stadium first.

🚨 The Glazers preference is a full sale of Manchester United, as reported yesterday. Raine Group are not anticipating minority investment even though all options are being explored.
Told, much like with the Chelsea sale, suitors will follow quite a rigid process, although there is no hard deadline for offers. #CFC required this due to the urgency of their sale.
But elements of the Chelsea sale procedure will be replicated to ensure prospective suitors have a clear plan if successful. This is also because with all options explored, investors could yet end up working with the Glazers should a full buyer not be found or chosen.

Raine Group, who oversaw the Chelsea sale, is acting as #MUFC's exclusive financial advisor. This is significant. The Glazers, like FSG at #LFC, saw the Chelsea sale and realised there was a strong range of suitors with an appetite to buy a Premier League club for billions.
FSG and the Glazers seemingly feel now is the right time for investment or to sell, especially knowing the ESL (and its promised financial bounty) is unlikely to return and remains strongly opposed by fans.
Manchester United are not guaranteeing a sale, but Raine Group certainly know how to get one done. This feels like another process designed by Americans for Americans.
