Several weeks back, I wrote about Ron DeSantis appointing a white Republican to replace a black Democrat on the Gadsden County Commission.

Gadsden is the lone maj-black county in FL

Well last month, Democrats took back the seat in the elections.

Gadsden is so Democratic that this election marks the first time this century that Republicans have even bothered to run for office there. After DeSantis' appointee resigned, the GOP replacement was always an underdog #flapol

The vote for this seat, like past races for it, was heavily racially polarized. White voters around Havana backed more while the heavily black west end voted for Simpkins - who also notably won white Quincy (which tends to be a swing vote) #flapol
