REPEALED—The FDA has now withdrawn authorization of the last #COVID19 MAB drug bebtelovimab, citing it is not expected to neutralize the dominant BQ.1 & BQ.1.1 subvariants. This takes away the last COVID monoclonal antibody treatment. Losing the tools! fda.gov/drugs/drug-saf… Image
2) For treatment of COVID, this was the last MAB. While Evusheld is still authorized, it’s for pre-exposure prophylaxis (prevention) in limited people. But even then it has limited efficacy against the newer #BA5 Omicron variants.

3) Earlier in October, FDA already warned doctors prescribing @AstraZeneca's Evusheld to inform patients of

"increased risk for developing COVID-19 when exposed to variants of SARS-CoV-2 that are not neutralized" fda.gov/drugs/drug-saf… Image
4) I warned about this previously. These monoclonal antibodies are tailor designed for targeting the original Wuhan spike protein. But when it mutates, the drug then fails.
5) for example, Evusheld was up to >1000-fold lower in neutralizing activity against #BA46, which isn’t even the most evasive variant anymore compared to the #BQ1 subvariants and #XBB variant. ➡️“We have the tools” my ass! Image

Bad news—it seems @Twitter just updated its misleading info policy that #COVID19 misinformation will no longer be enforced. The 11k accounts that were suspended under the old policy will soon be restored. ➡️Stay folks—do NOT cede the town square to them! blog.twitter.com/en_us/topics/c… Image
Welp—this tweet didn’t age well for COVID misinfo I guess
3) Twitter's data shows 11,000 accounts were suspended under the #COVID misinformation policy— with almost 100,000 pieces of content were removed since 2020.

Guess these accounts coming back soon. Time to roll up the sleeves to fight. Don’t back down.

⚠️Sperm levels—So let this sink in guys—the concentration of #COVID-infected men’s sperm is **53% LOWER** than sperm of men who were not COVID infected, even 3 months later. Plus, don’t forget the bonus erectile dysfunction. Maybe now #BringBackMasks?
onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jm… Image
2) Two groups were selected (100 men had and recovered from COVID, and 100 men never had COVID) spermiograms from both groups were analyzed w/ WHO standards. **The sperm concentration of COVID-19 negative group was significantly higher than those in the COVID-19 positive group**
3) “It was observed that men with COVID-19 had decreased sperm concentrations suggesting that COVID-19 may have a negative effect on male fertility.”

⚠️OUTDOOR TRANSMISSION—Jogger infects dozens in a park—via surveillance videos, investigators identified 256 people who passed within 1 meter of Patient ZERO as he jogged without a mask—13 (5%) infected, plus 20 more park visitors. 85% perfect #COVID19 variant match to Patient 0!
2) 38 of the 39 infected park visitors were unmasked. Also while 85% had perfect genome match of their strain to Patient Zero, the other 15% (5 of 34) were just 1 single mutation different—hence likely still caught from patient zero.
3) Not gonna lie— that fact that China could identify all 256 people who were within 1 meter of the jogger (out of 20,000+ visitors to the park)… is crazy as hell. But hot damn on the contract tracing!!

💡All these can be true at same time:

CDC director sucks.
CDC scientists save lives.
Elon Musk is half-ruining Twitter.
Tesla makes good cars.
EVs can catch fire—but less than ICE cars.
SpaceX saved taxpayers $40 bil via 🚀costs -85%.
SpaceX’s Dragon saves us from begging Putin.
2) I know these statements above are not always popular to say. But they are essentially true. I know Twitter can be a partisan place, but I want to be fair and correct some of the many things I hear from both sides. Yes there are more nuances, but we should be honest too.
3) Again folks, i know many people don’t like to admit Tesla makes good cars because they hate Elon Musk. And they highlight EV fire stories that are rare compared to ICE fires that almost never make the news. Teslas also are much safer than other cars:

📍Time to debunk #monkeypox misinformation—some had claimed it’s only an MSM disease via sex—INCORRECT. New study finds, in cisgender women—only 61% of cases could be connected to sexual contact—nearly one-quarter infected **without sexual interaction**!
nytimes.com/2022/11/21/hea… ImageImage
2) The women were thought to have been infected through exposure at their jobs or homes or through other types of close contact.
“The lesson here is that everybody needs to know about this,” Dr. Orkin said. “it’s important to recognize this is not the only group.”
3) In the new study, Dr. Orkin and her colleagues found genetic material from the monkeypox virus in all 14 of the vaginal swabs they tested, suggesting that the virus can be transmitted through genital secretions. Studies in men have similarly found the virus in seminal fluid.

📍Horrifying—80% LAYOFF—3200 of 4,000 highly skilled epidemiologists, communication specialists, and public health nurses—hired by CDC’s @CDCFound to plug the holes at battered public health departments on the front lines—set to be laid off next month! 🤦🏻‍♂️
cnn.com/2022/11/14/hea…
2) “the majority of the CDC Foundation’s contracts for those public health workers at local and state departments have ended as the group has spent nearly all of its almost $289 million in covid relief funding.
3) “The CDC Foundation, an independent nonprofit that supports the CDC’s work, anticipates that no more than about 800 of its 4,000 hires will ultimately staff those jurisdictions, spokesperson Pierce Nelson said.
