My team recognizes the validity of #Indigenous knowledge and the right of these communities to shape research that occurs in their homelands. Because of this, an Indigenous Advisory Council guides all of our project’s communication, research design, analysis, deliverables. Image
Rivers are vital to connect landscapes and transport water, sediment, and nutrients across continents. They also provide ice transportation corridors, fish and game, a sense of place and cultural identity for nearby communities. This is the #Yukon Delta as seen from #Landsat 8. Image
Our research found that climate change is already affecting rivers in #Alaska. River flow and air temperature have increased during the cold season (November - April) over the last 60 years, fundamentally changing these river ecosystems. Image

My undergraduate research measured #hydrogen emissions from vehicles. Hydrogen is important and has gained popularity as a possible polluter of the environment due to notions of a hydrogen-based energy economy. Image
My hydrogen emission study evolved from a discrepancy in H2:CO emissions after catalytic converters were introduced in the 1970s. My objective was to understand the link between CO and H2 to quantify ratio uncertainty. This study aimed to better comprehend the global H2 budget. Image
