I tried to avoid using the word "stupid" before 2019 because there's a reason why European Law is a whole course at university.
e.g. You can be a brain surgeon and not know what the Single Market is.
But I'll start keeping THREAD of Brexit arguments that are objectively stupid:
"The news must show the pros & cons of Brexit equally."
‼️STUPID‼️
Even the BBC only admitted they should've covered businesses "less negatively impacted".
Was just doing some research on pre-referendum Nigel Farage and saw these tweets were put out one after the other.
12.22: EU immigration makes us less safe
15.11: I'm horrified that someone killed an MP, because they believed EU immigration made us less safe. @Nigel_Farage
Nigel Farage promised that Brexit would deliver £2-3 billion every year for the fishing industry.
(to the tune of Pirates of the Caribbean for some reason)
But the fishing industry says it's costing them £300 million over 5 years.
The main effect of private schools is to give rich kids an advantage over the poorer kids.
They are tools of inequality, ensuring social injustice.
Does that sound like "charity" to you?!!?
No? Then they shouldn't have 'charitable status' or the tax breaks that come with it.
Trolls saying "Femi, you went to private school" in 3, 2...
That's where I learned there are 2 types of privilege:
1️⃣ thinks it deserves it
2️⃣ knows it doesn't
The advantages it gave me weren't deserved and DEFINITELY shouldn't effectively be state subsidised as charity.
We're the 4th most financially unequal country in europe. And the 6th biggest economy in the world.
The money is there to create a fairer society by making sure businesses, individuals and institutions (e.g priv schools) pay their fair share in tax, and "level up" state schools.
