Health officials are now urging parents to be on lookout for scarlet fever symptoms— red rash plus red lines on skin plus sore throat and more. Treatable with antibiotics if caught early, but reportedly there’s a shortage.

2) Furthermore, the NYC health dept mask advisory includes people who have been **previously COVID infected and previously vaccinated.**

A recommendation for all people ages 2+.

3) why did NYC suddenly recommend masks indoors for almost everyone? It’s because NYC has been rated high risk on CDC Community levels —which is CDC’s hospitalization-weighted metric, not just transmission. This is honestly too late — waiting for hospitals to be full is stupid!

2) Absent dedicated congressional funding, and funding deployed very soon, the next generation of COVID vaccines to hopefully end the pandemic once and for all, may instead come from overseas and controlled by overseas countries – even if based on U.S.-origin technology.
3) Therefore, the U.S. risks, as the New York Times put it, “creating a scenario in which Americans would have to travel abroad for the latest in American vaccine technology” if the current funding lag continues.

📌asymptomatic/mild cases can now quarantine at home (but still needs 2x consecutive PCR negative tests on days 6&7)

2) 📌Rapid antigen tests allowed.

📌Mass PCR testing of population suspended except for in hospitals, nursing homes, and schools.

📌Blanket lockdowns of entire communities/streets no longer used—but stratify high risk area by households or building/floors.
3) 📌You no longer need to test negative with PCR and show negative test certificates to travel between regions (between cities and provinces)
📌Negative tests no long needed for “landings” - presumably airport arrivals? Unclear if just for domestic or international as well.

People hospitalized with Covid also increased 27% during the week ending Dec. 2, according to CDC data.

2) Larger graph of last week’s CDC risk levels of *influenza like illness* which includes a wide variety of respiratory infections resembling flu (which can also be RSV and COVID). The color purple is almost never used. But this year- it’s purple galore. Hospitals overwhelmed.
3) It’s so bad this year that WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF MEDICINE FOR CHILDREN nationwide!! This is not some anecdotal thing — this is a phenomenon in both US and Canada — when kids can get fever med and painkillers — the shit is bad! Anti vaxxers & anti maskers should be ashamed.
