Russian propaganda continues to find new "causes" to justify war against Ukraine. One of them is so-called "betrayal in the Minsk Agreements". Read more on our website: ukraineworld.org/articles/infow…
Russia's President Vladimir Putin stated that the West's aim was to "pump #Ukraine with weapons and get it prepared for war with Russia" and he is "disappointed".
However, these are not only words of sadness or emotions. These narrative re-inforces the narrative about Ukraine as a "failed state" as well as puts the blame on the West.
In its turn, Russia is shown as the only country which "has principles and wish for peace" - after 10 months of war in Ukraine, war crimes and strikes on civil infrastructure.
Moreover, Putin also repeated the thesis about "self-defense from the West" and desire to "protect people in Donbas" - another narratives from Russian propaganda to legitimise war.
"Perhaps, we should have made it earlier" - that is how he commented on the beginning of the war against Ukraine. It seems that Russia had not abandoned its ambitions to annex Ukraine.
After successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Russia tries to speak about negotiations and accuse Ukraine of the wish to return its territories and the West of violations of the international law.
However, it is only Russia that doesn't respect international law and sovereignity of countries, occupies territories, commits war crimes and attacks civilians. #RussiaisATerroistState

What is behind the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)? We spoke to Archimandrite Cyril Hovorun, Professor in Ecclesiology, International Relations and Ecumenism at the Sankt Ignatios College, University College Stockholm. Key points👇#UkraineWorldAnalysis: 1/13
There are disagreements between the believers and clergy in this church who support Ukraine on the one hand, and the episcopate, which is dominated by passive or active sympathy for the "Russian world". 2/13
There are also Ukrainian patriots among the bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church who are against the Russian Orthodox Church's support for the war, but they do not constitute a majority. 3/13
What are the key moments of the first 200 days of the 🇷🇺 war? UW has translated the key aspects of Liga.net review of a new book Over the Precipice, by Volodymyr Horbulin and Valentyn Badrak, military experts. Key points – in our brief, #UkraineWorldAnalysis: 1/11
Putin was helped by Western inaction. The war began 8 years before the full-scale invasion. And it was a logical consequence of the weakness of the "collective West" in its confrontation with Russia. 2/11
For eight years, the army has not been a priority. It was planned to allocate 133.5 billion hryvnias, or approximately $5 billion, to the armed forces [in 2022]. This is an extremely small amount for a country at war with a giant enemy. 3/11
For the last 10 years, the head of the Kremlin has annually held a meeting at the end of the year, “a meeting best of the best”. Last year, a big press conference occurred on December 23rd, where Vladimir Putin talked for almost 4 hours, responding to 55 questions. #StopRussiaNOW
However, this tradition continued until #Russia started “a special military operation” in #Ukraine, and this year, the annual big press conference of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin won’t occur. #RussiainvadedUkraine
At the international Solidarity with the Ukrainian People conference in Paris on December 13, 🇺🇦 President Zelenskyy called on the #EU to send special missions to the energy infrastructure objects of #Ukraine to stabilise the situation and provide proper international control.
Russia has already reacted to Zelenskyy’s initiative. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that President Zelenskyy intends to use EU missions as “human shields.” #RussianPropaganda
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council @OleksiyDanilov shares his vision of a current watershed period and what to do to avoid the big war. The answer is clear - de-Putinization, denuclearization, demilitarization of 🇷🇺 and and dismantling its pseudo-federation.
Regarding Russia, now we are dealing with the emerging hybrid, modernized bloodiest version of totalitarianism, which has rightly been called the ideology of russism, which can use all the latest technological and civilizational achievements.
Silence and lack of actions from Europe in 1930s led to rise of Hitler. If the humankind didn't draw the lesson from history, the current war for independence of Ukraine can be just prologue to the big war.
What is the current situation with judicial reform in Ukraine? UkraineWorld spoke to Mykhailo Zhernakov, chair of the board of the DEJURE Foundation. Key points – in our brief, #UkraineWorldAnalysis: 1/13
The war has greatly changed everything. First of all, we are already on the fourth iteration of Ukraine`s judicial reform. Some parts of it were successful, like the Anti-Corruption Court, but the rest has been less so. 2/13
This is mostly because earlier judicial self-governance, which exists in other European countries, was introduced. This is a good recipe for preserving the system’s ability to preserve itself, but a bad one when the system needs to be changed. 3/13
