I'm going to use this as a thread on "fun" stuff within the Omnibus appropriations bill. Where to begin?

First, this bill is 4,155 pages long & was released after #Midnight. It's disgusting how Swamp legislators will not even attempt to read the bill's details. 1/

Nancy Pelosi said it best: We have to pass the bill to find out what's in it.

But before the bill passes, I'm going to highlight some things I think are of note or that I think are interesting.

Some GOP Senators are already touting how this bill spends less than @JoeBiden's request. That does not take into consideration the costs associated w/ supplemental appropriations & the PAYGO Waiver.

If & when @USCBO scores this bill, it will likely total $1.9 trillion. 3/

This bill is loaded with thousands of #Earmarks.

The product of the Swamp in action, appropriators use earmarks as the #CurrencyOfCorruption.

So what are some notable earmarks included? 4/

The Senate Appropriations Chairman @SenatorLeahy got some earmarks, including renaming the Lake Champlain Basin Program the "Patrick Leahy Lake Champlain Basis Program" - and stuffing $35 MILLION each year from 2023 to 2027! #Swamp /5

I can't just pick on Dems, so let's check Vice Chairman @SenShelby... Almost everything in Alabama is already named after him. BUT this bill designates the facilities at the FBI at Redstone Arsenal to be known as the "Richard Shelby Center for Innovation & Advanced Training" /6

Are you a fan of Presidential Museums? Well, this bill includes $7.25 MILLION to upgrade President Jimmy Carter's museum AND $6 MILLION for President Ulysses S. Grant's museum. /7

Members of Congress love to be a part of history. The era of #COVID is no different. So they've included $1.5 MILLION for the COVID-19 American History Project. #Fauci CANNOT WAIT to see an exhibit full of his lies & deceit. /8

Everyone loves when Congress conducts a STUDY & issues a REPORT! Page 2,840 includes a Study & Report on effects of COVID on travel & tourism.

The is govt waste & duplicative. Congress doesn't need a report. Just look at FL & the job @GovRonDeSantis did. #KeepFloridaFree /9

As @DavidADitch already tweeted - the bill waives budgetary enforcement of PAYGO ($130B).

That means Congress is punting for a 2ND time any fiscal discipline for the American Rescue Plan Act aka Biden Stimulus, which is largely responsible for the record level of inflation. /10

Woke! The Radical Left always works to advance cultural Marxism & wokeism in legislation.

In the Legislative Branch section $3.5 MILLION is included for The Office of Diversity & Inclusion... Diversity, Equity, Inclusion...

Seems like a Congressional SAFE SPACE! /11

Then we've got $1.2 million earmark for a #LGBTQ+ Pride Center in California. I wonder if this pride center will invite a #DragQueen to perform & celebrate this earmark?!?

I think @AOC & the #Squad will disregard the $$ defense increase & vote yes.

Why? AOC got MILLIONS of $$ in Earmarks.

More Woke Earmarks - @JerryNadler got $3M for an American #LGBTQ+ Museum in New York City. /15

It's worth noting the @HouseGOP wasn't a part of the agreement. But the @HouseDemocrats were led by Pelosi & Chair @rosadelauro. So Biden & Senate Dems went along w/ all the Socialist spending. But why would Senate Republicans accommodate that? /16

EARMARKS - Fulfills 98% of Dem requests for $5.4 BILLION & 3,213 Democratic projects! /17

The bill includes a 9.3% annual increase - $68 BILLION MORE - in Non-Defense Funding - the HIGHEST LEVEL EVER!

Who cares that's less than what Biden requested. @SenateGOP Take back power of the purse! /18

More money for #BigLabor - first funding increase for National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) since FY2010 (+$25M)

Increases max Pell Grant by $500

Includes an astronomical level of funding at the @NIH - $47 BILLION - which is $2.5B more than last year. /19

The bill has $18.4 BILLION for Education for the Disadvantaged. Something tells me this isn't for #SchoolFreedom or #SchoolChoice @DeAngelisCorey.

Instead the bill funds a broken education system that hands over taxpayer $$$ to unelected bureaucrats, not parents & students. /20

This bill increases the Member Representational Allowance (MRA) by $35.6 MILLION, a 4.6% increase. That's not an increase of Members' salaries, but it does include increases for how much $ their office can spend on staffing, mail, supplies, etc. /21

The bill also includes an expansion of authorities to create a House child care subsidy program & expands the student loan repayment program. It's not exactly "free child care" and "free tuition" but it's an ugly cousin. /22

The bill provides a $506.4 million increase in grants for state & local law enforcement. So the #SwampSquad will vote to fund the police.

Next let's talk about #Defense... /23

Nobody disagrees the federal government should provide robust federal funding for national defense & national security.

But the Democrats tucked $2 BILLION in Defense to "tackle the climate crisis." What?! /24

#GreenNewDeal funding - another $1.7 BILLION to support transit, bicycle, pedestrian, & passenger rail to support local projects that "promote green infrastructure, invest in resilient communities and help address climate change".

Here's another #Earmark worth noting... @PattyMurray got $2M for the MLK Labor Council (WA) for an online hiring platform.

MLK Labor is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO with a mission to attack private businesses in Washington State. I hear the group hates babies & the police. /26

Not every Republican agrees with me on the damage I think the Radical Lame Duck Omnibus will cause America. @LeaderMcConnell says it conforms to the policy guidelines he’s defined for months. 🤯

Some Republicans are touting a $275 million cut to the IRS because the bill provides “only” $12.3 billion for the IRS despite the IRS receiving $12.6B last year…

Don’t forget: Biden added $80 billion in the Inflation Reduction Act to hire 87,000 new IRS agents. /28

Pick a number between 1 and 4,155 and I will try to unpack what’s funded in that page…

I don’t think I spent enough time talking about how terrible it is for some of the @SenateGOP to roll the @HouseGOP and the American voter. The leverage obtained by the New House Republican Majority is being flushed down the toilet in this Radical Lame Duck Omnibus /30.
