A Savarna director has made a movie on manual scavenger death.Some of us have not watched it as it might be another traumatising experience as #Dalits to watch it .We are aware of the deaths,the legal process and the disappointments .We are not ignorant of it.

"Who" needs to watch the movie is the Savarnas,the bureaucrats and the state .That would be the goal of the movie .To rattle the corrupt and casteist system.But unfortunately the communists (The director is their fellow comrade ) have started to attack Dalits

They have started to call Dalits who have not written about the movie in social media as "Blue Sangis" "Ambedkarists" "Ranjith 's chamchas" etc and started heckling us . The social media posts are filled with nuanced Dalit abuse .

They have come up with reverse casteism allegations. They are like "You are not talking about the movie because the director is not a Dalit".You are all casteist Dalits" . Absolutely not .We have celebrated every movie irrespective of the caste of the director.

Today the director has given an interview with a local magazine stating that "Sub-caste issue is the reason behind the denial of the movie or the issue ". Dude...We have been advocates against manual scavenging Irrespective of who are affected by it.

Infact I have been documenting the manual scavenger deaths in Tamilnadu over the year and it's a good mix of Dalit sub-castes.Paraiyars have also lost their lives. To stereotype that only one sub-caste have been doing manual scavenging is misinformation.They are all "Dalits"

Most of them want us to to be grateful for its a Dalit movie.If we are not doing that.Theywants to play divisive politics in the name of sub-caste . We have been getting comments like "Oh you must be talking about this movie because it's about YOU".

They also say that we are not talking about that movie because the movie talks about communist struggles against manual scavenger deaths .And we don't like communists .

Forcing us, using caste slurs,caste nick names for not writing about the movie is a good, strong mix of casteism and benevolent casteism. We have been quite for more than couple of weeks.But they (communists and OBCs)have been constantly humiliating us in the name of art .

One hand you are saying you are talking for Dalit rights through the movie and on another hand you are using Caste markers and gaslighting us for not talking about the movie . What is your politics ? Huh?

Savarnas make Dalit movies ,show themself as saviour of Dalits ,wants accolades and calls Dalits who have not reacted as Casteists/anti-communists/ungrateful people and "Ambedkarists Blue Sangis..." Wow!...mind blown bro.

The assault on Dalits should stop right away .We cannot take your modern day casteism.Those times are over .Go show your movie to the state. Put out a special screening for the Chief minister and make him do something on this issue. DOT.
