GPT-3 is basically blowing my mind right now.

For those who don't know, it's an awesome AI language model developed by OpenAI. It uses algorithms and massive amounts of data to generate human-like text and other stuff… it's seriously impressive.

There’s various other AI systems but I’ve always found them very pedestrian, not fun or useful.

ChatGPT is on another level.

It can write jokes, code, and essays, but it can even make medical diagnoses (obvs don’t trust it) and its explanations of scientific concepts are spot on (says a non scientist). It even does decent accounting reports on footballers!

In my experience, output quality depends 30% on the tool and 70% on the skill of user. If a person of average intelligence uses GPT3 they won’t create a top-quality or highly polished piece of work.

However, if a very intelligent person uses GPT3 intelligently, they probably will.

AI is basically like a mirror – idiot in equals idiot out. 🤷‍♂️

The technology is an ‘intelligence amplifier’ (didn’t make that word up, read it and it sounds impressive 😂) , not a substitute for intelligence…bad news for politicians then.

In my case, it’s is working exceptionally well for my use case.

Those who use AI for work could outperform others significantly but as I said, it’s in knowing how to use it. Furthermore, I’ve noticed that it’s sometimes far more efficient and to not use it for tasks.

Indeed I sometimes spend so long editing the outputs and checking that it can be a pointless exercise.

either way, whatever happens, it’s a lot of fun.

Anyway, I could go on but I’ve got lots of work/AI inputs to be getting on with…
