As part of my digital role I have been banking all the interesting Twitter threads on #ChatGPT in #education and #teaching. I thought it would be useful to signpost educators to what it can do. 🧵🧵🧵
1) What is it 2) Discussions 3) Examples
First off hats off to @torreytrust for putting together this amazing summary of #chatGPT for schools.
@DanFitzTweets has been tweeting many examples of what it can do for teachers and how it could be a powerful tool and reduce workload. He is also offering webinars.
@garyhenderson18 claims schools shouldn't block #ChatGPT in schools as it isn't going away and adults are already finding ways to use it. This agrees with @torreytrust who claims this will increase the learning gap for those who have access from home.
It is important to note that ChatGPT is not perfect and can make mistakes. Schools are obviously very concerned about the risk it runs for coursework and plagiarism, as students may be tempted to submit work that is not of their own original thought.
I feel making your staff body aware of #ChatGTP and highlighting both the positives and negatives will be vital moving forward. This is uncharted territory and we will have to guide out students wisely on how best to use it #teaching#edtech#edtechchat#ECTs
