For past 4 yrs volunteer community organizers of @cjecofficial @NAASDLA put in thousands of hours of work to produce what you now know as #AB3121 & #SB189. We consulted legal, legislative and policy experts. We gathered input from dozens of listening sessions throughout CA.✊🏾💪🏾

We worked closely w/ Dr. Weber, Dr. Darity and a multitude of state and local elected officials. We even brought @icecube into the process.

We amended #AB3121, got it passed into law and, defeated an attempt to change the eligibility intent of the statute. #LineageVote ✊🏾💪🏾

We conducted surveys and produced countless pieces of marketing content directed at raising awareness in the CA #Freedmen community about #Reparations efforts in the state.

Everything we have done was to inform our people and bring them/ their input into the process. ✊🏾💪🏾

If you passed through Leimert Park on Juneteenth, you saw us, over 2 days, canvassing, hosting panels, delivering information and receiving input.

We have and will continue to do all we can to reach every Black American #Freedmen in California. ✊🏾💪🏾

No one sees the real work. It’s not glamorous. It doesn’t happen in a Twitter space or in front of a news camera.

Real work requires more than an opinion. Real work requires informed critical thinking and the ability to adapt, problem solve and reach democratic consensus.

Real work doesn’t pay and every CJEC/NAASD organizer has sacrificed time, money and energy for the collective benefit of Black American #Freedmen.

They are the true heroes of this movement. #salute #grassroots

When #AB1604 was vetoed, a lot of you were nowhere to be found or you celebrated the veto in hopes that we failed. 👀

But we had a plan. That plan succeeded and #SB189 has moved our ppl closer to economic justice.

We’re immensely proud of our work & will protect it. ✊🏾💪🏾

Everyone and everything is open to honest and fair critique. We welcome constructive input so that the CA plan is as strong and comprehensive as possible.

We are in this to WIN, to uplift all 🇺🇸#Freedmen in the state, and to lay groundwork for Federal #PureReparations.✊🏾💪🏾
