On 29 December 2022, the local executive body (Akimat) of Uralsk city issued a refusal to hold a "Bloody January Remembrance Day" on 7 January 2023 in response to notifications from civil activists.

We demand an international investigation into the January events.
1/5 On 12 October 2022 at 02:30 p.m. (Uralsk time) the city court of #Uralsk will hold an offline court hearing in a politically motivated criminal case under Article 405 Part 2 ("participation in an extremist organisation") against civil activists #YESKENDIROVA Marua and
The activists have been under house arrest since 28 April 2022.
The authorities are prosecuting Marua and Amangeldy for the following political reasons:

On 13 October, the politically motivated criminal case under Article 272 Part 2 ("participation in mass disorder") against 18 people continued at the Specialised Inter-District Criminal Cour of Aktobe region: @nnienass
3/6 Thanks to public support and public advocacy, political prisoner Ablaykhan #BEKEYEV has had his measure of restraint changed from arrest in the pre-trial detention facility, where he was held for 9 months, to an undertaking to appear in court.

On 12 October 2022, members of the organising committee for the creation of the opposition party "Alga #Kazakhstan" for the third time submitted a list of the initiative group (2,149 persons - which is twice the amount required by law) ⤵️
2/5 to the Ministry of Justice to begin registration of the party. However, on the same day, 13 October, the Ministry of #Justice returned the documents, refusing to start registration of the party,
3/5 citing Article 8 of the law on political parties, while providing no specific explanation as to whose data on the list of the initiative group does not meet the requirements of the law.
