Question for my Twitch Friendos. #Twitch & a thread about what I've been pondering to do with Twitch growth. I'll admit I've stagnated and slowly shifting to casual. I can also do 1080p, been doing 720p. Considering going back to 432p or 540p for growth. 🧵

So the last few months when i do get to stream. I've been lucky to find a spot that allows me to use ethernet. So i been able to do a lot of 720p & even tested 1080p and that went great too. I'm excited for this.

However back in my starting days when i used to stream from Starbucks, i was only doing 432p & maybe 540p. Back then i had more viewers. I've noticed that i grew a lot more so on people with not very good internet. This makes sense.

With recent changes in how twitch decides to give encoding options. It's based on viewer numbers now. I think its like 8 is the threshold. So in order to hit that threshold. I've decided to stream at a lower resolution to encourage growth. I don't like it because PB Vods.

Even as a casual viewer on twitch. I don't full screen anybody stream and if they have quality options, i lower it to like 180p because I'm usually just listening and I don't need to tax my system to tab in and out. Also I'm usually just chatting with you guys & gals.

Am I wrong to think that going back to either 540 or 432p to be a bad idea for growth if nobody watching at 720p? I spent two months doing 720p with my strongest games and best foot forward and nothing. 720p currently is making me feel defeated as a streamer.

I'm also considering 432p more so because.. lets be honest. On most tablets and cellphones. 432p looks as good as 720 or 1080 on those screens and I think a lot of people don't full screen a stream and since a viewer most likely doesn't, i feel this is fine in normal window mode.
