That one night when Yujin didn’t go home on time. As parents, Taehyung and Jeongguk were worried and nervous as hell.

Taehyung felt restless the whole day and he doesn’t know why. He really can’t figure it out and even though he was busy at work, he can’t help but be distracted from time to time. He wanted to call Jeongguk to tell about it but he knew he was busy too.

If it’s about the girls, the daycare would have definitely called them by now.

It was 10PM, Yujin was still not home and Taehyung was able to put the pieces together. The couple tried contacting him through texts and calls but he wasn’t responding or picking it up.

The omega was so worried since this is Yujin’s first year of university. What if his seniors bullied him or forced him to do something he didn’t like.

“He’s still not picking up.” Jeongguk sighs in frustration. Where the hell is their son?

They had tried calling his university and of course, no one answered since it’s almost midnight already.

Yujin never does this so they can’t help but panic. It’s not that they let their firstborn do whatever he wants. Their son knows his boundaries and they trust him a lot.

The alpha really wanted to go out and stroll around his university or go to clubs or bars. It’s also possible that his friends influenced or dragged him to enter those places.

They know that Yujin will do this stuff soon but not to the point that he will not inform his parents about his whereabouts. Taehyung will definitely want to go with him but the twins are already sleeping so they cannot leave them as well.

“Are we allowed to call the police and report it?” Taehyung asked Jeongguk.
“I don’t think we can report a missing person if 24 hours has not passed and Yujin is also not a minor. He’s an alpha as well.” Jeongguk explains.

“But we can try, right? We can tell them that he is a good kid and never does this so they will be alarmed too. Gangs and fraternities are alive again.”

Jeongguk then agreed since it’s their last resort. He was about to dial the emergency hotline when Taehyung’s phone rang.

He postponed calling the nearest police station and watched as his husband talked to Jimin over the phone. When the omega sighed in relief Jeongguk knew that Yujin was found.

“Yujin is with them."

They said that they’re already on their way here.” Taehyung shared the news and so they waited. Jeongguk really wanted to get mad but he wanted to see first if his son is okay.

Were they very lenient to him that’s why he did this?

It’s not always the child who is blamed when bad things happen.

Sometimes, it might be the parents’ upbringing so the alpha can’t help but question himself. Taehyung, on the other hand, was impatiently waiting on the couch, knees bouncing due to anxiety.

Thirty minutes later, Yujin arrived along with Yoongi and Jimin. Their firstborn can’t even look at them and he just stood on the entrance with his head down, scared that they might not let him in.

“Jeon Yujin!” Jeongguk shouted and Taehyung was quick to stop him.

“Talk with Jimin and Yoongi. I’ll bring Yujin inside.”

Jeongguk nodded and proceeded to talk to their friends. He thanked them over and over again for bringing him home.

“He arrived around 8PM. I thought he just wanted to see us. Everything seemed normal but I caught on when I saw you guys calling him and he was ignoring them all.” Jimin shared.

“He won’t tell us what happened but he kept on asking us not to bring him home because you’ll get mad.” Yoongi added.

“Of course, we’re going to get mad. We thought something happened to him.” Jeongguk sighed in frustration.

“I gave him an ultimatum. I told him I’ll let him stay the night if he tells us what happened but he didn’t so I told him I’m bringing him home.” Yoongi mentioned.

The alpha was still very thankful that their son decided to go to his uncles’ home and not to a dangerous place.

He thanked him over and over again before finally bidding goodbye since it’s already late.

When he came back inside, he saw Taehyung massaging Yujin’s hands but he knew that he didn’t tell his omega father yet whatever it was.

“Jeon Yujin, did you know what you just did?” Jeongguk can’t help but raise his voice. He wants to let him know what he did was wrong regardless of the situation.
“What came to your mind and you decided to not go home tonight, huh?”

“Gukkie, please calm down. He’ll get scared.”
“As he should, Taehyung.”

Taehyung just sighed at his response.

“Your uncle Jimin and uncle Yoongi had to drop you off here because they want you safe. They did that even if they still have work tomorrow. What is happening, Yujin?” Taehyung asks carefully and Jeongguk was just shooting him daggers.

“I did something…” Their firstborn finally spoke.
“We’ll listen, my love.” His appa said while rubbing his back to encourage him more, to let him feel that he’s safe here.
“I did something and I’m so scared to go home because you’ll be disappointed with me.”

Jeongguk straightened his back upon hearing that.
“Do you think we’re not disappointed because you decided not to come home instead of telling us the problem?”
“Jeongguk, let him speak. Please.”

Taehyung pleads so Jeongguk sighed in defeat.

The omega really has a soft spot for Yujin even if he is no longer a child.

“The dean wants to talk to you. I almost got into a fight, dad. I’m so sorry. I’m really sorry, daddy.”

Yujin started crying so Jeongguk quickly went to him and gave him a hug.

Of course, he is mad but he knows there’s a reason why he did this and their son needs him.

“Can you tell us what happened? This is so not you, Yujin, so I'm sure something triggered you to do that.” Jeongguk’s scary voice was replaced with a mellow one.

“I don’t want you to be disappointed in me. Daddy, appa.” He said.
“My love, we have to know first what happened before we talk to the dean. How can we defend you if we didn’t know the story?” Taehyung stated.

Yujin was just minding his own business after his last class which ended around 3PM. He’s actually on his way to the library to borrow a book that was needed for his class tomorrow when a bunch of guys he knew stopped him.

He’s not the type of student to be bullied, to be honest, since he is an alpha too. He’s actually pretty popular in their batch and course since he has the face and he does well when it comes to academics. He is also active in some organisations.

“Do you need something?” Yujin nonchalantly asks.
“Not really. We just heard something about you. No offense but we find it weird.” The guy said and he still has no idea what he is talking about but he knew it’s going to be offensive since he said the word “no offense”.

“What did you hear about me?” That is none of your business. Yujin wants to add that but he doesn’t want to piss them off since has more important things to do.
“Well, we heard that you still live with your parents.” Oh. So this is what they find weird about him.

“Yes, I’m still living with my family. I don’t think there is anything weird about that.”

The three guys laughed at the confirmation and Yujin just wanted to walk past them. He’s tired of dealing with these bunch of airheads acting like highschoolers.

“Well, you do know that when someone presents, they have to start living alone. Right?”
“I am very much aware.” He said shortly.

“Oh, really? Then why are you still living with them? Or…. you’re faking that you presented already? I hear that it’s possible. You know those late bloomers.”

Another one insisted.

“It’s just a social norm. It is not a requirement once a person presented plus I don’t think it’s a big deal to you, guys.” Yujin answered back.

He’s really not embarrassed that he’s living with his family but he doesn’t want other people to think that living with your parents is a bad thing.

“Well, you’re the only person here who’s living with their family. All of us here are already living alone, fulfilling the roles of our ranks. How weak are you that you can’t do that?”

Yujin balled his fist because he is really getting pissed off already.

“I don’t remember asking for your opinion about my life decisions. Why don’t you mind your own business instead? I won’t be here in this university if it’s a requirement to live alone. Am I right?”
“Then why are you being triggered?”

“Then why are you acting like high schoolers trying to bully a freshman? Don’t you have better things to do? I owe my life to my parents that’s why I chose to continue living with them so if you do not have better things to say then shut your goddamn mouth!”

Yujin was surprised that the three guys didn’t talk back. It turned out that their dean was in their spot and obviously, he didn’t hear the whole conversation so he thought it was Yujin’s doing.

Jeongguk was livid. If he could go to his university at midnight and talk to the dean, he'd do it. The two had to calm him down since his strong alpha pheromones are all over and the twins might suddenly wake up.

“I’m scared to go home because you’ll get mad at me for getting into a fight.” Yujin confessed.

“I’m not saying what you did was okay but I won’t tolerate what they did to you as well. They want to talk to us? Fine, I’ll give them all my time."

"Let’s see if they can summon the parents of those guys.” Jeongguk’s words are seething.
“My love, why don’t you take a rest now? You must have been stressed.” Taehyung suggested but Yujin refused.

“Yujin, it’s okay. Go to sleep now. Please don’t listen to them. If you’re regretting living with us then we’ll understand—”
“No, appa. I’m not regretting my decision. It’s the best decision I made so please don’t ever think of that.”

The young man started tearing up again so Jeongguk rubbed his back this time.
“Yujin. They just think they’re way cooler and stronger than you because they’re living alone but in fact, living with your family is your greatest strength and they can never beat that or beat you.”

Yujin nodded in agreement.

“Like what you said to us, it’s just a social norm and it’s not a requirement. You’re the one who’s not afraid of changes and you’re letting people know that it’s okay to choose their family, +

+ their loved ones but still be a good person fulfilling the roles of their rank. Okay?”

“In no time, it will not be a big deal anymore. You’re right, you didn’t ask for their opinion about your decision because it’s not their life, okay? But please, don’t ever do this again. We’re so scared that something happened to you.”

Yujin nodded and apologised to his parents over and over again. He will never regret staying with his family, it’s something that he will be proud to share with all the people he’s going to meet in the university, in his life.

As requested, Jeongguk and Taehyung went to Yujin’s university to have a discussion with the dean.

“Mr. Ho, I understand that you caught our son in the act of almost causing a fight inside the university. As parents, we deeply apologise but as parents of Yujin, we’d also like to express our side not to conceal what he did but to help you realise what happened.”

Jeongguk was mostly doing the talking which really surprised Taehyung since he is the quiet type of man but since his son is involved, he needs to really speak up and fight too.

“Yujin has good conduct and also good grades. You may review his files from his old schools that we submitted prior enrollment. I hope what happened will just be a warning for Yujin."

"Afterall, those guys are the ones who wanted to be invasive of our son’s decision making. They should be respecting his decision and right.” The dean nods to tell him to continue talking.

“I don’t know what sanction you will be giving to those guys but I don’t think it will be fair if Yujin will have a bad record when in fact, he was just defending himself."

"I know this university values honesty and courtesy, hence, we, parents, are choosing this institution for our children regardless if they are living alone or not.”

In conclusion, the dean decided to let it pass for Yujin since the three guys admit their wrongdoings.

Instead of summoning their parents, they will be performing community service in the university along with a tarnished academic record.

“That was so sexy of you, Gukkie. It’s like you’re trying to win a client with your proposal.” Taehyung shared while walking on their way to meet up with Yujin to deliver the wonderful news.

“Oh, please. I have to do it. I couldn't sleep that well last night because I kept on thinking about it. Yujin doesn’t deserve that. My precious firstborn.”

Taehyung can’t help but laugh at the last statement.

Finally, the couple was able to breathe well knowing that Yujin will be okay.

“Dad, appa!” Yujin shouted the moment he saw his parents. They met up at a fast food restaurant inside the campus to have lunch before the couple went to work.

Taehyung shared the good news to his son and told him not to be nervous anymore if the dean calls him later.

“Still apologise for the commotion you did but other than that, you’re clean.” His omega father added.

“Yes, appa. I will do that as a sign of respect. Thank you so much.” Yujin gave Taehyung a big hug.
“We still have to talk about you not going home on time, young man.” Jeongguk warned.

Yujin pouted exaggeratedly so his alpha father couldn't help but laugh.

Well, he’s not the only one who has a soft spot for Yujin. Of course, Jeongguk too.
