9am MST House State Affairs can be watched here- idahoptv.org/shows/idahoins…
I'll be glued to this. We have an abortion RS30171 from Rep Ehardt, HB 68 (Office of Performance Evaluations), an electoral college RS 30185 by Rep. Heather Scott and RS 30210 also from Scott. #idpol#idleg
Testimony is being taken. Click on the agenda and sign up. If you are a minor, permission slip is here if needed. tinyurl.com/y7y8cmr7 #idpol#idleg
RS 30185 Electoral College, Support Rep. Heather Scott- its a resolution affirming the electoral college system. Wants it to be known Idaho and its elected officials are very against a popular vote, or deviation from the electoral college. #idpol#idleg
RS 30210 State Government, Agreements, List Rep. Heather Scott- says this is a transparency bill. Adds a new duty for the State Controller to store, maintain, publish a current list of agreements entered in by the state. Says the entry of Common Core to the state was inspiration.
"Cant records request an agreement you dont even know is out there." Rep. Gannon supports and is motioning to introduce. Being sent to print.
RS 30171 Abortion, Pregnant Minors, Rep. Ehardt
adding definitions to illegal trafficking of minors to procure an abortion. Rep. Andrus is a cosponsor.
Ehardt is weirdly enthusiastic about not letting people leave the state for abortions. THIS IS BAD. #idpol#idleg
Absolutely ZERO DISCUSSION. WOW. Its being printed. #idpol#idleg
HB 68 Getting rid of the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee, and places the Office of Performance Evaluation under the control of the Legislative Council. JLOC is the ONLY bipartisan committee. #idleg#idpol
@SamSandmire is up giving a lovely testimony as to why OPE is so important. She mentions helpful reports about the state of our schools, dept of transportation. The research OPE does it vital.
Crystal Ivie testifying against HB 68. She is highlighting the importance of unbiased data. She believes changing the way OPE operates, will silence the minority.
When she mentioned the word "republican," she was reprimanded. Bunch of sensitive folks today.
Kendall Shaper is up next testifying against HB 68. She says she was first made aware of OPE while living in Pittsburgh, and she was so proud her state was used as an example of good governance.
She urges committee not to go the way of North Carolina's Gov Ops useless committee.
The Director of Developmental Disabilities is testifying now about how important OPE has been in improving state systems of people with disabilities and seniors. OPE study in 2021 helped lead to funding for the Idaho Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementia Program. #idpol#idleg
OPE Director "But to minimize the politics, there is no better system than having a joint oversight committee where there are both major parties, equal amount of senators and house members, and they alternate chairing the committee meetings." #idpol#idleg
Blanksma insists this will not change OPE at all. She seems flustered and insulted that anyone would insinuate she is being "nefarious" about this proposal.
Gannon motioned to hold in committee, arguing that changing the hiring % can lead to cronyism, favoritism.#idpol#idleg
Motion to hold failed. Motion to move to floor passes. HB 68 lives on.
RS 302221 Rep Manwaring- Prop owners will get a numerical breakdown of exempted value being subtracted from full market value. It will help prop owners understand how much value is exempt from their property. It also defines limited market opportunity properties. #idpol#idleg
These are defined as special purpose commercial propeties. Some examples are- self storage facilities, gas stations and CAR WASHES LOLLLLLL #idpol#idleg
This has just started. I might not be able to cover it all, so watch if you are interested! I have a lunch date, then over to the capitol for 1:30 business.

SCR 101 is being requested it be returned to Health and Welfare Committee to give time for EMS to testify. #idpol#ideg
House was very boring today, thankfully. There is always tomorrow!
Senate is at ease. Eagle High folks are visiting the Senate right now. Someone should ask them about Turning Point, lol.
Objections are being raised as to where HB 24 is routed. Inititally it was being referred to House Commerce and Resources and was requested to go to Education. Someone else objected to that. Senator Anthon motioned to put Senate at ease. #idpol#idleg
I am standing outside the committee room and I can tell it’s going to be a busy meeting. #idpol#idleg
Committee is starting. I want to start by saying this. I fully support the trans community, especially the children. During this meeting, I will not be sharing names, nor will I be highlighting anything harmful said by people testifying in support. #idpol#idleg
I will only highlight messages of support and love, and out of pocket comments from our legislators. Lets get started.
Rep Skaug is going over the definitions of gender dysphoria, and his perceived side effects of gender affirming care. He cites Chloe Cole as case study. #idleg
He wants to protect the "fundamental right to procreate." He said we dont let minors get tattoos... yes we do, with parental consent. He said kids dont drink, yes they do with parental consent. He keeps bringing up the right to procreate.. this is weird. #idpol#idleg
Blaine Conzatti is testifying for the Idaho Family Policy. Nothing he says will be factual. He is going to attempt to delegitimize any testimony from actual medical professionals ahead of time.... which he has just started. He is not a medical professional. NEXT. #idpol#idleg
Brandon Mickelson, Director of Idaho Academy of Family Physicians of Idaho and a Dr Hyatt (sep testimony) are testifying against this bill highlighting the misinformation surrounding trans youth, and detrimental tolls not having gender affirming care takes on them. #idpol#idleg
The dude who maybe owns Branden Dursts house is up testifying now. No thank you. NEXT.
On another note- Chairman Scott keeps cutting people off for not staying on topic of the bill. We keep hearing a lot of bible and god talk and talk about other fictional stories like Island of Doctor Moreau. I dont think this is on topic. Keep your religion off our bodies. #idleg
We are now hearing from a physician testifying she worries about being able to perform her job and legislation like this is harming the medical workforce. She has to seriously consider leaving the state to practice medicine for fear of being jailed, fined or losing her license.
Rep. Scott is repeatedly cutting anyone off testifying in support of this bill, stating they aren't sticking to the bill. The only people who aren't, are the people who have testified in support when they invoke religion and falsehoods to support their hate. #idpol#idleg
My darling friend @terri94usc is up testifying in support of her own loved ones, and a friend she lost because they did not receive the care they so desperately need. She is describing how gender affirming care save the lives of 3 young men she is close to. #idpol#idleg
When Terri said the word "legislature" Scott once again stopped testimony and said to stay on topic. She cant stand the heat. She just cut someone else off for saying this bill is fear mongering. Ya'll- she is silencing supportive voices for trans youth. Shameful. #idleg#idpol
Oh damn- Dorothy Moon is up now. Nah. She bugs me.
@_Shiva_R just had his testimony cut off completely for daring to defend trans youth against attacks he hears in high school halls. Apparently saying the word "politician" is out of line, "micro aggressions" is out of line, saying the word "rhetoric" is out of line. #idpol#idleg
Now we get to listen to someone yap about "woke ideology" and a mix pf 4Chan QAnon Fox News misinformation bullshit this person read online, but he gets extra time added and was given time to explain. COOL. Next.
Superstar Eve is back shining in front of committee and is being thoughtfully asked by Rep. Mathias if they are willing to share their own experience receiving gender affirming care. Thank you for sharing, Eve and for being so brave!
We have heard multiple "professional" testimonies about taking the lead of socialist countries in their use of gender affirming care. This is weird to me as the right hates socialist countries. I guess they love them when it suits their needs? #idpol#idleg
A doctor Rodney Story out of Moscow testified in support of this bill. He is a full fledged faith based doctor. Read the article to see why faith based testimony and imposing others faith based biases are harmful. No thank you. #idpol#idleg christianpost.com/voice/is-a-chr…
We are hearing from the mother of Rowan who is now 24. Mom said 24 is pretty old for a transgender child. As a mom myself, I cant imagine having that worry day after day. We are so happy you are with us, Rowan, and great job Mom! We support you! #ProtectTransKids#idpol
Brian Almon from the IFF mentioned kids cant get married under 18... thats a lie, lol. Kids can get married in Idaho. Kids can get raped and become parents in idaho. Kids can join the military as minors (age 17 with parental consent.) Lets stay honest, ok? #idpol#idleg
Heather Greenmab testifying out of Post Falls Idaho saying she used to be attracted to same sex, not anymore and is married to a man. Here's a little background. krem.com/article/news/e…
She doesnt like libraries and bullies the LGBTQIA+ community for fun.
Ya’ll- pretty sure these idiots just tried to make circumcision illegal on the sly. Rep. Garner caught it and is quizzing Conzatti. This is pretty dangerous ground. No religious exceptions or anything included. Ooooof. #idpol#idleg
Thank you Rep Nash for sharing your personal family story, and pointing out that idaho allows for plenty of faith based healing exemptions giving parental control, but the legislature continually wants to trample on parental rights of others they don’t agree with. #idpol#idleg

Good morning! I cannot seem to wake up on time but that's ok. Today will be difficult to keep track of because many meetings are happening at the same time. We hate when this happens. Makes it hard to follow. #idpol#idleg tinyurl.com/ID-Leg-Agenda Click for agenda and rooms.
Some things potentially helpful this morning in House Ed are Rep. Mathias RS 30134Abuse of School Employees, and Rep. Lantings RS 30139C1- No school on election day – Student Safety. We really love our teachers and students and want them safe. Stay tuned! #idpol#idleg
Potentially new crappy things to watch for are-
House State Affairs Rep. Skaug's RS 30172-Indexing unemployment benefits to the state’s unemployment rate.
Rep Alfieri's HB 75- VOTING – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding voting by absentee ballot. #idpol#idleg
RS32046 -Relating to the Protection of Minors; Amending Title 48-these people really think they can mandate a filter on juvenile devices and internet networks to keep them from watching porn LOL. This failed before. Its never going to happen, and thats intrusive AF. #idpol#idleg
Sen. Foremans Militia RS repeals the list of those who may parade around in public with firearms. Says armed militia groups go back to the days of George Washington and his concept of having many small militia groups for defense still holds true today. #idpol#idleg
