Thank you everyone. This wk we saved two homes + reconnected or kept a bunch of critical services + helped a family w a new baby stabilize +fed people + made sure ppl got critical meds #odsp doesn't cover.
think it's acceptable that people live like this. But I have a couple of theories: 1. They don't actually know any disabled ppl living on benefits and 2. nor do they care. The federal government has been disappointingly vague on the federal benefit ppl need so desperately. No one
Should be depending on a couple of random women + their supporters to make sure they can stay housed and fed!! IT IS RIDICULOUS. It is RIDICULOUS that individuals are doing the job of the state. It is negligent. The duty of care has been abandoned. But we have no choice. We
keep going, because if we don't? can't imagine what would have happened to THOUSANDS of ppl if Brenda + I + others weren't fundraising constantly to keep them going every day. It is shameful. I look forward to people not needing it to survive. ๐ Thank you for keeping ppl alive.

How can someone on city council not be aware that they have a duty of fucking care? And they are failing utterly to uphold that duty every day by sacrificing people to some perceived higher virtue of fiscal responsibility which is really bigotry and cruelty in a good suit?
Like do you get how you are letting the people of this city, your children, and especially the ppl who are most directly affected by this, down? You were elected to lead. That means caring for the most vulnerable. YOU FAILED. You failed to care, and you failed to set an example.
a small theory about why society feels like it is fragmenting right now: because it is. and it's a necessary evolution. a ๐งต (1/?)
in the postwar west we had a monoculture for decades. it ate everything. politics, culture, art, literature, media itself: trends waved across it and us and it touched all our lives in ways big and small.
the influence of "culture" started to increase decades ago just as complaints started to become more vocal about how oppressively singular it was. monoculture was eating everything ...
so this cataracts ophthalmology thing is a huge scam posing as an "industry" and seniors are being exploited and ripped off and if you complain, the review board basically gives it all a pass. looking forward to talking to @CTVToronto about this Monday.
are ophthalmologists angry people? because ... ๐ฅถ
if you have a relative who needs #cataract surgery in Ontario, make sure they/you are getting a clinic referral from someone trusted. ask if they take OHIP. Ask if there are any costs. When you visit, is the clinic overcrowded. No OHIP, extra fees, overcrowded clinic = red flags.
You have to have a LOT of hate, and substantial time and resources to do something like this. Like irrational hate + bias. Or things like create social puppet accounts to intimidate ppl and create tension. 99% of ppl do not have the hate or the time. So what is going on?
Is it really the ppl on opposing "sides" of an issue? What kind of mind would create literature encouraging ppl to choose MAiD? Either an extremely disturbed one, or a very calculating one. Who benefits from social disruption like this? Same ppl trying to interfere in elections
