[thread]

So I am going to a thread on @GeorgeFreemanMP

And @BBCQuestionTime with @lisanandy

Yesterday I did a thread on a horrendous interview @LeeAndersonMP_ in terms of how he behaved

I can't decide whether George's behaviour is better or worse

There was also a BBC Question Time question on Russian money

Now I am not going to focus on that clip

Because as George shows - there is always a clip

As I have said previously

I can understand

1) no grounds for investigating
2) grounds for investigating and investigation not finding conclusive evidence
3) grounds for investigating and investigation finding conclusive evidence

npr.org/2020/07/21/893…
But hey go George with his "strong cultural stand for our Values"

Which is weird because George is quite active about focusing on party donations

e.g.

Which is weird because George is quite active about focusing on party donations

e.g.

But back to the clip I am choosing to focus on

So here's the transcript
Here's that mountain in December 2022

I hate to be the one to tell George

But the mountain seems to be getting bigger
I would ask George

At what point did you recognise that Boris Johnson did not provide "proper standards, proper integrity, proper discipline"

who and what Boris Johnson is has never changed
the only question

of just how far he would go

and who he would lie to

and what about
So in December 2021

George was having a bit of a nightmare

As he was the cabinet minister on the local media round

So the other question George was asked on 2/12/2021

Was around #Partygate

You can listen to his utterly pathetic responses here

here is the write up of that interview from @JohnJCrace

theguardian.com/politics/2021/…
A reminder of the various bullshit used by the Prime Minister, his cabinet, his MPs and his backers
all the bullshit they waffle designed to deflect from a central question

which I put here (mid thread) where I used two songs from Paul McCartney and Gerry Rafferty to praise the people of Liverpool

Oh here's Boris on the people of Liverpool

liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool…
Here's my fuller thread on the people of #Liverpool

Boris Johnson isn't fit to tie their shoe laces

Now George was quite an enthusiastic backer of Boris Johnson

He even got the badge

I admire the use of the word "colourful" and "living on his wits"

Oh and here's also Eddie Mair of what some of "colourful"

Oh here is George defending Boris Johnson's racism

Here is my thread where I defend Boris Johnson

I think I did better than George tbh because I did not deflect by attacking someone else

Now there are so many places to choose to begin with George

I chose first of all to focus on the initial tory leadership campaign in autumn 2022

George thought that Penny Mordaunt was the PM in waiting

Now here he is defending the lies of Penny Mordaunt

Here's another one where Penny herself is challenged on her lies

In addition to the lies of Penny Mordaunt to Andrew Marr

You can also compare that

To how Penny Mordaunt modified her sales pitch in the Buzzfeed referendum debate
Time position is at : -21:00

scontent-lcy1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t42.1790-29/…
She here twists it to

individual citizens not having a veto

the referendum being the only place as a citizen we have a veto

we have a veto but we can never use it
Here's a reminder post June 2016

Of who was championing Turkey joining the EU

politico.eu/article/boris-…
Oh see also
Then ten days later

He chose a different PM in waiting

Based on ....

I strangely can't see a post where he joined in the protective square around Priti Patel

He chose to be silent

Weird that

Here George talks of winning an election to

"deliver a a sensible brexit deal"

"put to bed the brexit divisions"

"a moment of inspiring renewal"

George does seem to invoke a moment of "renewal" quite a lot

twitter.com/search?q=renew…
Here is George wanting Boris to deliver a "one nation brexit deal"

Whatever the actual fuck that is

Here is George on a no deal brexit

As Boris Johnson heads for the "australian option" on January1st

So George did write a letter to Boris Johnson

Imagine writing that letter and not being able to write it in a way to make clear your resignation

Eventually he managed to admit to himself a tipping point

norfolklive.co.uk/news/norfolk-n…
My question

What took you so long George?
So now I want to go back to an earlier resignation by George

where he did actually make clear the resignation part
Mr Freeman clashed with Downing Street on the party's direction & wrote to Ms May saying the Tories risked alienating young voters if it allowed itself to be "defined as narrow party of nostalgia, hard Brexit, public sector austerity & lazy privilege".

independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…
Here's those younger voters

"Only 2% of people aged 18-24, and 15% of 25-49-year olds say they intend to vote Conservative at the next general election – due to be called before the end of 2024"

politicshome.com/news/article/c…
Anyway

I am coming to the end now

But one final comparison of the difference between what George SAYS and what George does
I had to go back to an old BBC Any Questions episode

From 21st September 2018

Where George defends Chris Grayling (in the closing minutes of the interview) and tries valiantly to defend the state of UK railways

bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b0…
But at the start of that Any Questions debate

There's a more serious point

Here's the transcript of the contribution from George Freeman
So first of all before we start on George

The audience question starts from a false premise

"Both sides made their positions on the Irish border clear on day one of brexit"

This is not true
Prior to 23/6/2016

Vote Leave said they had many solutions to the NI border

George should know this

Because he is intimately aware of who said that lie

@PennyMordaunt

"There is many ways of doing it"
On day one of brexit - there actually was a different promise

But we aren't talking about that
It just gets added to the list of lies
So back to Penny

Vote Leave promised they had many solutions to the NI border

We are now nearly 7 years after that vote

And they have not delivered a single one of those

Instead

What did they do to "get brexit done"

Here's how George voted on the NI Protocol bill

votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons/…
So this answer dated well
Here's a fulller thread on the NI border

Now I do not know how as a "Conservative and Unionist Party" representative

Let alone voter

How you lie to yourself that much that you vote against the union

It is the contempt you have for yourself, your party but ultimately the union of the United Kingdom
But then again

I suppose if you can lie to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth to unlawfully prorogue the Mother of Parliaments

There really is nobody yo will not lie to
I wrote a thread on lying too

with reference to @trussliz @joelycett and to Elizabeth and Josephine

So to end with a thread touching on some of George's ministerial areas

The reason George like to talks up "renewal" so much

Is that whilst you fuck the law, fuck the union and fuck business

How you hide behind the hollow words of "renewal" matter

1. If Brexit is done
2. you are proud of it
3. It showed they need us more than we need them, a better deal, a dividend, no liabilities, many solutions to NI border & leads to sunlit uplands

Why would you need to reset it @10DowningStreet @RishiSunak ?

And what to? ImageImage
Now before we go through the quotes lifted from Alex that at the start of the thread

I want to go back in time

To early 2016

Where Rishi talked of the "toughest" decision he had to make

I would like to thank @LeeAnderson_MP for this old interview with @MichaelLCrick

I learnt something

1. an object I did not know the name of
2. a technique I did not know about
3. Lee does seem to understand when something is going too far

And just so he doesn't get angry (we will come to that later)

Here's the full version

Now as the resident who challenges him on it

I am not going to focus on the reason why Lee left the Labour party

You can choose to fall for Lee's lies

Or not

I would like to apologise to @GiftCee

I was too hasty in my response to him last night

So just to let Gift know

Mommy has taken away my phone and I got a good nights sleep

As to him calling me an idiot and questioning my mental health

Well...
So to clarify

1. The deal between UK and Italy is a deal involving trade
2. It is not an FTA
3. It is a memorandum of understanding
Now Gift asks

"What you say Remainers?"

I thought brexit was done

Why does Gift seek to label people as Remainers

We have left

You cannot remain in something you left

So lets ignore Gift's divisiveness there

I would like to dedicate this thread to @GiftCee and @DanielaNadj

I want to talk about @10DowningStreet @RishiSunak

And I want to talk about #Australia

And a quote

“F--- me,” the text read. “How good is optimism?” ImageImageImage
Now I am not going to insult @GiftCee

Usually when I quote him evidence and facts

He usually alternates between

Ignoring them

Or

Insulting me and calling me an idiot

Or

Insulting me and questioning my mental health

e.g. like the facts below: Image
In a way

At least he's not telling me to go away and read the Kallergi conspiracy

I miss the days where brexiteers did that

[thread] for both those wish to leave the
#ECHR AND remain in #ECHR

I dedicate this thread to @JackieDP

Now on the "willy waving" of @10DowningSt @RishiSunak

Why you wave it
How you wave it
When you wave it
Where you wave it
What you are waving

All matter
So the reason I say that is you go to the Rishi Sunak words of :

Rishi Sunak is prepared to take Britain out of the ECHR

Rishi Sunak might even consider leaving the ECHR

and this below from the Liasion Committee on 20/12/2022
there's also video from that committee session

"Shut your eyes. Hold your breath. Think of Ukraine. Think of the rest of the EU. Think of the future. Think of the desire of your children & grandchildren to live and work in other European countries; to sell things there, to make friends & perhaps find partners there."
"Ukraine is a great nation, a global force for good. It is surely a boon for the world and for Europe that she should be intimately engaged in the EU. This is a market on our doorstep the membership fee seems rather small for all that access."
