#QT Sussan Ley embarrassingly tries to accuse PM Albanese of scaremongering on interest rates when they went up under the Coalition, but doesn’t realise Albo at the time was quoting her now leader, Dutton.🤦‍♂️
As the PM corrects Ley, even Peter Dutton can’t hold back his grin 😂
Dutton smiles as he looks at Ley, after her horrendously embarrassing stunt, was she put up to it? Or did she pull this one out on her own? 🤔 Image
Speaker Milton Dick, not taking any of Sussan Ley’s shit at the moment, puts her on thin ice 💥 #QT
#QT Paul Fletcher now also put on thin ice, ouch! 😂 Go Speaker!
Milton tells Fletcher he’s on his final straw 🔥 Image
Speaker boots member for Herbert, Phillip Thompson, for being a clown 🥾

Oh and out goes member for Barker, Tony Pasin, too! Booted 🥾
Speaker not taking any shyte from anyone today at all.
Ted O’Brien, shadow climate change minister, kicked out too. 🥾
Go Milton. Throw out the clowns!
Albo drills Andrew Hastie for raising a “matter of public importance” on Labor’s Defence spending cuts the last time they were in government. 🤦‍♂️

Albo: “it’s like the last decade, just didn’t happen!”🔥
Karen Andrews tries to go outside standing orders to Table a document, and gets a little cranky 😵‍💫 when she’s told, it’s not the way to do it #QT
That wraps up my coverage

Now off for kiddie school pick up.
Yay! Enjoy your afternoon. It’s been an electrifying #QT today.
LNP’s Andrew Hastie tells parliament that in 2013
“we inherited a big mess!”

Conveniently leaves out that they quadrupled the mess before handing it back to Labor, 9 years later. Image
Sorry to break it to you Sussan, but that actually came from your boss.
(Whoops) #QT Image
Hats off to Speaker Milton Dick today. He kept both sides in order and threw out some rascals along the way. #QT Image

NACC Commr Paul Brereton under fire after being found to be lying through his teeth when claiming he quit his role of assistant Inspector-General of Defence as FOI docs reveal he did not quit & continued to provide “critical” advice to the current IG of Defence #ResignBrereton Image
So he’s secretly continued in his assistant Inspector General of Defence role, despite publicly declaring he had quit the role as required for his current role, to have no conflict of interest.

This is absolutely shocking. He is still there refusing to resign, does not care.
After concerns of NACC Commr Paul Brereton’s involvement in Defence, NACC issued statement to Senate on his behalf claiming he “resigned” from his ADF role “in May of 2023”
An FOI reqst for resignation docs resulted in ‘nothing found’
There’s no evidence he resigned.

Tania Lawrence roasts ASIC Chair Joe Longo for only going after ANZ, but letting their former CEO Shane Elliot off the hook, with millions in payouts & no penalties.
Lawrence “Where is the consequence for someone like him?”
Longo insists it’s “very difficult” 🤨 ffs
Too hard to hold white collar crooks to account says ASIC, what ya gonna do?

This fmr CEO Shane Elliott not only keeps his millions after years of knowingly ripping off customers, he can still practise. There has been nothing.
It’s like in the PwC matter, nobody held to account
So to repeat from my earlier post, ANZ could have been fined into the Billions,

But after high level meetings between ANZ & ASIC they settled on $240mill, which is peanuts for ANZ, & no penalties for any individuals, despite that ASIC has legislated power to go after them too

Fiona Brown tells court she can’t explain why she didn’t make notes of her conversations with Reynolds but admits she refused to follow an instruction to report to police bcoz she says she “needed more” than just BH with water in eyes complaining of a bloke being “on top” of her
Brown has conceded that she was instructed to report the incident to police by both Linda Reynolds AND Alex Hawke and that she refused.

She then agreed it was at least “possible” that some form of sex had taken place after she was pressed to answer by Justice Lee.
Fiona Brown admits to resisting instructions to report this to the police but agrees she did provide Higggins with details of the sexual assault hotline 1800respect after being told Lehrmann was “on top” of her.

Brittany Higgins tells the court she met Lehrmann for the first time at the Kingston Hotel on 2nd March.
As she tried to leave, says he asked her to “stay for another drink”
And then took her mobile phone “so that I couldn’t leave”
Higgins speaking open & clearly, speaking well.
Higgins eventually got her phone back and left saying she was running late to meet a friend. She was at the Kingston hotel with members of Reynolds’ new team & was putting herself forward for a new role as assistant media advisor. Stayed longer as was pushed to stay by Lehrmann.
Higgins describes Reynolds’ office as “a mess” claiming there was a lot of disorganisation, every1 had to fend for themselves. “The minister was never in the office”
Says Lehrmann he would treat her “like a secretary” & would constantly give her tasks to do.

Lehrmann in the hot seat again & already admits the no. of drinks he purchased at the Doc Hotel was not 5 but now 6. Says he still can’t explain how 2 transactions with 6 drinks = 1 transaction of $16 on his CC. 🤔 The mystery continues.
Pressed on why he gave diff answers when answering about Keys to his own barrister as with what he said to Dr Collins, Lehrmann insists he has remained honest about his key story & says it’s not uncommon that he’d lurch into parliament “at all hrs of the night” to drink alcohol
Lehrmann pressed on his 26 March 19 chat with Fiona Brown & denies being asked what “else” he did other than drink, denies telling Brown he was chatting with Higgins
Collins SC brings up a conv. he had with “father figure” Lyndon Biernoff - BL denies telling to him a diff story

Bruce Lehrmann under heavy heat by Dr Matt Collins SC - after BL claimed on Wednesday he did NOT buy Brittany Higgins a drink at the Doc Hotel on 22 March 2019, Collins SC stuns Lehrmann with a photograph from the hotel. BL immediately folds:
“I apologise I was wrong”
Lehrmann now being torn apart with questions on why he gave false evidence to the court on Wednesday.
Lehrmann insists he must have been “confused” to which Judge tells him if he’s confused he should “seek clarification”
Collins is scathing.💥
Collins extracts more evidence this time from Lehrmann’s AFP interview, where Lehrmann even tells the police he could not recall buying Brittany Higgins a drink at the pub, even tho he admits he now did.
