#NEW @KatiePhang is calling out Tucker Carlson for his conspiracy theories about the insurrection with shocking Fox News clips (and I am here for it). Phang is laying out the arguments against Speaker McCarthy granting Carlson unfettered access to 44k hours of January 6 tapes.

For those of us who don't watch Fox News or Carlson, he says "When are they going to admit there was no insurrection?" and immediately laughs and says "Never!" with that high-pitched squeal sarcastic voice he frequently apes.

Carlson perpetuates the GOP lie that "FBI operatives were organizing the attack on the Capitol" & says that's "according to government documents." Then flashes a photo of FBI director Christopher Wray on screen to give credibility to his point, but of course there's no video. 🧵

Carlson then continues to assert that "this 'white supremacist insurrection' was organized-at least in part-- again from the government's own documents--by government agents." Some graphics he has are "Insurrection Day" over a red Capitol and "Hunter Biden's laptop from Hell."🧵

A steady diet of this misinformation and disinformation would definitely convince you that there is a conspiracy to keep you from knowing the "real truth" about January 6th (even though there was the January 6th Committee).

Phang says MSNBC has also asked Speaker McCarthy about access to these tapes Fox is getting gratis, but "has not heard back." (Shocker that McCarthy has ignored MSNBC as he has also ignored CNN's request for access.)

Phang's guest David Jolly, former GOP congressman, says "Tucker Carlson is one of the most dangerous voices in American culture and you see it nightly."

Jolly says: "The big question around Kevin McCarthy is this: is this [giving Carlson the tapes] because he's beholden to the MAGA caucus or is it because he's fully a part of it?"

Jolly says McCarthy is "willing to jeopardize Capital security and national security to further his own political ambitions."
