Missing words from Attorney General Garland's speech in #Ukraine:

"International Criminal Court"

Why?

Especially given the #U4J speech was on U.S. support for prosecution of Russian #WarCrimes.

So why the omission?

Want to understand legal weaknesses _and_ strengths of Pence’s Speech & Debate Clause claim?

I discussed @OutFrontCNN how DOJ has taken position that Speech & Debate clause includes VP on Jan. 6.

But Pence, at most, could argue only some questions before grand jury are covered.

DOJ took the position that Pence was acting within scope of Speech & Debate Clause in counting votes as President of the Senate on Jan. 6.
