Types of Depression
1.Atypical Depression
It is characterised by the heaviness in the limbs ,irritability, relationship issues,oversleeping and over eating.(2/n)
2.Psychotic Depression
This is characterised by episodes with hallucinations,delusions and catatonic stage ( Statue stage) .(3/n)
3. PostPartum Depression
Occurs in new mothers after giving birth ,characterised by a sense of disconnect and sometimes the fear of hurting their babies.(4/n)
4.Premenstrual dysphoric depression.
Occurs in the second half of all menstrual cycles,affecting the person to function normally.(5/n)
5.Situational depression.
This is triggered by a life changing unexpected event ,such as death in the family ,loss of job or breakups.(6/n)
6.Major depression
People with this, experience recurrent episodes of depression throughout their lives.(7/n)
7.Dysthymia
Characterised by persistent low mood that lasts for a long period of time. It may be described as living on an autopilot. (8/n)
S.A.D ( Seasonal affecting disorder)
Occurs due to the lack of sunlight during winter months.This occurs to people who are sensitive to lower amounts of light.(9/10)
9.Bipolar Disorders
It is also known as Manic depressive psychosis and is characterized by alternative state of depression & mania( elated mood).
