Trump attorney Joe Tacopina has had an attorney-client relationship with Stormy Daniels.

Under ABA, NYS ethics rules, difficult to see how he can represent Trump; call Daniel’s claim of affair untrue; call her an extortionist (and Trump the victim).

In his own words in 2018👇

American Bar Association - Duties To Prospective Client, Rule 1.18

New York Rules of Professional Conduct - Duties To Prospective Clients, Rule 1.18
3. The 2018 exchange was with @donlemon on CNN Tonight, March 16, 2018.

LEMON: So before being represented by Avenatti, Stormy approached you about representation. Did you get any impression that she may have signed NDA under duress and was she afraid for her physical safety?… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
4. Here's another exchange.

CNN Tonight, March 9, 2018. Tacopina in his own words.👇

"The question I was asked was whether I was contacted or asked to represent her. The answer is yes I was."
5. Tacopina did not subsequently represent Daniels.

But Rule 1.18 ("Duties To Prospective Client") already kicked in - which he acknowledged.

"In a monumental ruling Friday, a federal judge has ordered" Trump attorney Evan Corcoran "to provide additional testimony as part of an investigation" into classified documents

Monumental is the right word for this
@kaitlancollins @devancole1 @kpolantz
@kaitlancollins @devancole1 @kpolantz 2. One reason this is truly "monumental":

Federal district court judge at this late stage and state of the evidence is saying there is enough evidence of a crime in classified docs case (to override attorney-client privilege).

cnn.com/2023/03/17/pol… Image
3. Second reason it's monumental:

Corcoran likely has direct evidence relevant to both core crimes under investigation:

Willful retention of the documents

He apparently prepared false certification for DOJ.

He led DOJ to storage room but refused access to boxes. Image

Unjustifiable @SecDef position.

DoD "blocking the Biden administration from sharing evidence with the International Criminal Court" on Russia war crimes

"Rest of the administration including intelligence agencies," DOS, DOJ "favors sharing the evidence"
2. Senator @LindseyGrahamSC - who took a leadership role in passing legislation specifically to allow US to support the ICC investigation of Russian war crimes - is very justifiably upset.

@charlie_savage reporting

3. @POTUS/@NSC_Spox should read these words closely.

Senator Graham, rightfully upset given efforts made here:

“What we did in the legislation is the way to go and I want them to honor what we did.”

“We did this with the administration.”
“It was a collaborative effort.”

Missing words from Attorney General Garland's speech in #Ukraine:

"International Criminal Court"

Especially given the #U4J speech was on U.S. support for prosecution of Russian #WarCrimes.

So why the omission?

The reason is pretty scandalous.
2. The root cause may not be in the Justice Department at all, but rather coming from the Department of Defense.

See @charlie_savage's earlier reporting.

3. Here are A.G. Garland's remarks:

Holy cow

Jim Jordan’s first “whistleblower”:

Steve Friend, former FBI agent suspended “for objecting to using a SWAT team to arrest a subject for what Friend described as ‘misdemeanor offenses.’”

Who were the arrestees that day?

Three Percenters who attacked the Capitol👇❗️
2. Here’s the CNN report connecting Jim Jordan’s “whistleblower” (media needs to put that in scare quotes) who appears to have been actually suspended because of his refusal to assist in the SWAT team arrest of the alleged militia group members:

3. Here's the January 6th Final Report's coverage of this Three Percenters "B-Squad" militia group and their actions in the runup to and on January 6th.

Needed: An FBI Director who'll conduct a true review of FBI's #January6th intelligence failure.

New GAO Report👇

"The ongoing FBI review of its actions during the weeks preceding January 6, 2021 has NOT INCLUDED an assessment of how it processed information."

h/t @ryanjreilly
2. GAO Recommendation No. 1:

"The Director of the FBI should assess the extent to which and why personnel did not process information related to the events of January 6 according to policy."

It begins

Fulton County, Georgia special grand jury has recommended the indictment of multiple people.

Forewoman of the jury speaks on the record.

“You’re not going to be shocked. It’s not rocket science.”

2. “We definitely started with the first phone call, the call to Secretary Raffensperger that was so publicized.”

“I will tell you that if the judge releases the recommendations, it is not going to be some giant plot twist.”
3/3. “You probably have a fair idea of what may be in there. I’m trying very hard to say that delicately.”

Quotes from interview with special grand jury forewoman on the record.
