I got #lasik about six months ago. Decided to do it because of the pandemic. With everything happening in the world, I didn’t want to ever wake up and need to see and not be able to because of broken glasses or the inability to get contacts — apocalyptic stuff, I know.

1/
I did my research. Vetted my doctor — he’s one of the top two in the country — and watched every YouTube video known to man, the good & the horrific.

I made the best choice for me.

There are horror stories and there are chances that you may be in the % with complications.

2/
That is the risk with every surgery — elective and otherwise.

As with all things, you need to be prepared for the ways any decision you make could go wrong.

I am horrified to hear of the complications the original poster had. And pray that isn’t my ultimate fate.

3/
But having 20/20 vision in one eye and reader vision in the other has been life changing for me in the best way.

Waking up and being able to see without glasses or contacts is something I haven’t been able to do since I was 12 — which is dang near 40 years of poor vision.

4/
I’m sharing my #Lasik story for the same reason the original poster did — it’s my story to tell.

It’s not told to encourage you to get Lasik. I would feel horrible if someone took my advice and had a bad outcome.

But I don’t regret my decision. It was the right one for me. ❤️

One thing I’ve learned on the @ring neighborhood app is that white folks steal so casually. They’re brazen in how chill they are about committing crime.

Is it because they can do it so often and easily in life with little or no consequence?

Real question.
I’m truly amazed.
A few years ago there was a # where white folks were honest about how easily they can get away with stuff in life.

Stuff = criminal activity that would get other folks long prison sentences or on a very bad day quickly shot & killed by police.

I think of that watching @ring.
Another thing I noticed on the @ring app is how white folks describe the other white folks who commit crimes. They’re always still called ladies & men or kids. Never thugs, animals or criminals. They keep their humanity always even when doing heinous things brazenly ON camera.

I will say this succinctly:

This imp is dangerous but unlike 2016, this thing is not alone. This hate & renewed racism under the guise of “parental choice” is a cancer that has infiltrated the ENTIRE Republican Party. It LOUDLY exists at every level of government now.

1/
And don’t be deceived, what it just said IS outrageous. It’s racist, xenophobic, homophobic & authoritarian. But you thinking that ANY of that will stop people from voting this thing or more importantly its plans is the trick. A hair over 74 MILLION lost souls voted for this.
2/
And since it lost & fermented that deadly insurrection, it has only become more determined to get back in office to complete its work. This is a view of Hitler in 1932. In this vid, it is telegraphing what 2024 & beyond will be like, just as it did with #ThisAmericanCarnage

The cost of gas & other products being high is not because of @potus. It’s the lingering effects of a global pandemic — that Tang called a hoax leading to his minions ignoring it which allowed it to fester & torpedo our economy.

That said, Biden is working to fix it…
When you vote based on how things look TODAY you ensure that once @potus and the Democratic-led Congress fix things, you will have elected the kind of Republicans who CAUSED the initial problems — who will then take a victory lap for the things they did NOT do.
This happened after Clinton. This happened after Obama. It will happen after @potus if YOU, yes you, don’t realize that it takes TIME to fix things.

Our Democracy is worth it. Let the man work. Keep democrats in the majority in Congress so they can vote for his plans. PLEASE.

All these folks back-pedaling away from their anti @HillaryClinton stance in 2016 is beyond infuriating.

Calling for grace & “kumbayah”singing.

Where’s the self-righteous bluster?!

You whined about Bernie🥀, screamed “Stay home!” & voted for #JillStein w/your chest in ‘16.
Call them all out!

Remind them that just like elections have consequences, encouraging folks to vote against their best interests or not at all has consequences, too.

I care about their feelings & comfort about as much as the Supreme Court & the Republicans care about women.
… and voting rights, and Black and Brown people, and LGBTQ+ rights, and gun control, and covid-prevention, and affordable healthcare and medicines, and Black Lives Matter and…and…and…

They’ve proven time & again that that amount is ZERO.

The self-righteous can kick rocks!

I hope the 53% of white women who just couldn’t stomach voting for @HillaryClinton are happy that they’ve just ensured that their daughters grow up in #Gilead.

A woman’s right to choose is a HEALTH decision.

A PERSONAL health decision.

I’m a Christian and know that.
Further, I hope people finally get that VOTING MATTERS!

A corrupt, racist, money AND power hungry imp got to put THREE Supreme Court justices on the bench.

Those three said they would protect precedent KNOWING their goal was to overturn every right they deemed inappropriate.
This all happened because not enough people care enough to vote. And not enough people who DO vote choose leaders that care about everyone — not just the people who think, love and look like them.

This is bad.
This is VERY bad.
