What is @generalmills annual commitment to Black-owned media? Check this out. When the ill-fated app @quibi launched, they had ZERO track record. ZERO data. ZERO metrics. Yet they were able to sell out their $150M inventory. All of these major companies and ad agencies 1/
gave them money. Name me ONE Black-owned media company that could launch and lock up $150M with having to show ZERO DATA? This is how Black-owned media gets treated. I’m having my @blackstarnetwork sales team call General Mills today to ask what they are doing with 2/3
The reason you find it hard to believe is because you don’t understand the reality of Black-owned media today. First, there are VERY FEW Black-owned media who have actual reporters. That’s plural. It comes down to resources. #BlackOwnedMediaMatters 1/8
In the advertising industry, $322B is spent annually. Black-owned media gets .5% of that. That’s ALL Black-owned media. If you assess what is covered, it’s mostly sports and entertainment. And a lot of this is opinion. Not actual reporting. 2/8
The advertising industry doesn’t want to invest in Black-owned news. We are told that we aren’t “brand safe” due to the stories we cover: racism, police brutality, etc. Then there is the issue of Black folks actually supporting Black-owned media. 3/8
I’m on a plane reading this trash @nypost article viciously attacking @TiffanyDCross. It is obviously a story planted by a so-called @msnbc source to destroy her name and reputation. But it’s a bad hatchet job. The “source” was too dumb to even realize it. I’ll explain. 1/17
First, the “source” tries to offer 6-7 reasons why @msnbc didn’t renew @TiffanyDCross contract. They allege she wanted to burn the building down; she spent lots of money on expensive hotels; wanted more office space; and on and on and on. This is LAUGHABLE. 2/17
It took a so-called @msnbc insider two weeks to come up with this BS? First, it alleges @TiffanyDCross was calling around a week before she was fired saying she was gonna burn the network down and president @RJonesNews. Folks, that is a 100% lie. If she had gotten wind her 3/17
#BlackTwitter, why give Elon $8 a month? We have six shows on the @BlkStarNetwork. Three shows in development. We want to launch 5 more next year. I am asking for $50 a year. That’s 4.19 a month; 13 cents a day. HALF of what Elon wants! Give at RolandMartinUnfiltered.com! 1/6
Since launching four years ago, 30,000 people have joined the @BlkStarNetwork#BringTheFunk Fan Club. WE can’t keep saying we want and need Black news if WE don’t fund it! I have NO millionaires/billionaires funding me. NO Black celebs cutting big checks. But we do the work! 2/6
Listen! I’m not wasting any time of these non-voting fools. Come on my TL with your anti-voting, anti @staceyabrams anti @SenatorWarnock vitriol, you’re blocked. No response. No warning. DONE. Now, let’s get to work. Let’s talk Georgia runoff. 1/6
The @GOP in Georgia did not want a repeat of 2020, so they changed the law. Instead of the runoff being 2 months away, it’s now one. The deadline to register for the runoff has PASSED. It was Monday. Again, by design! Now, let’s talk money. 2/6
If you want to help @SenatorWarnock@ReverendWarnock BEAT @HerschelWalker, we need a STRONG ground game. These Dem consultants are gonna dump all the money on TV. That’s an air war. We can win with a ground war. I am asking you to please send money to the following groups 3/6
Hey @MeghanMcCain, this really is a silly question you pose, and it’s one that’s based on having no understanding of the long-term impact of politics. I’m from Texas and am still registered there. @BetoORourke’s run for the US Senate did more to help Dems down ballot than 1/5
Even @BarackObama in 2008 and 2012. It’s easy to sit in Arizona @MeghanMcCain and suggest that @BetoORourke running is a waste of time & money, but you literally have no clue about the impact it has had for voter mobilization and down ballot fundraising. Same for 2/5
@staceyabrams. Don’t believe me @MeghanMcCain? Listen to former Texas State Sen. And now Harris County Commissioner @RodneyEllis. Go to the 53-minute mark. He fully explains the value of @BetoORourke running. 3/5
You can always count on dumb ass Boyce “Clout Chasin’” Watkins to run his mouth. Not only is he a failed political commentator, he even was a failure getting tenure. Sp @drboycewatkins1 let’s go. We had TWO choices in 2020: Biden or Trump. Who did YOU vote for? Come on,
Punk. 1/6
You mention Black wealth decreasing. Why, @drboycewatkins1? Was it the collapse of the housing market? That was under George W. Bush, right? Is he a Dem or a Republican? We lost 53% of Black wealth. Black homeownership was at its highest under Clinton. Is he Dem or GOP? 2/6
