Bikram Bahadur Jamatia lives in his native village Moharcherra. He has dedicated his life to uplift and protect the tribals of Tripura

During the 1990's,the 2nd phase of insurgency started rising

Bikram Jamatia traveled to the remote locations which were infested with militants Image
Ignoring threats n motivated the tribals to stand up against NLFT,ATTF n small insurgent groups active in Tripura.

Over the years he has promoted indigenous faith, culture and heritage, had played the role of ambassador against alleged conversion in the state’s hilly areas. Image
The insurgency had brought a virtual end to the development of Tripura, the govt. had to send army to tackle the militants and the Police stations were brought under Distributed Area Act.

Bikram Jamatia also heads the Jamatia Hoda, an institution that works for the rights and... Image
Safeguards the Jamatia clan of Tripuri community.

It was because of Bikram Jamatia's efforts and determination that we see many Tribal communities practicing their cultures and their children having a better future in Tripura.

Rani Karnavati didnt think of a thread out of the blue and sent it to Humayun.

The elite historians of India made sure that the first story we hear about Rakshabandhan was of Humayun and Rani Karnavati, and that it began as a practice or festival was in India after Rani Karnavati sent a Rakhi to Humayun to protect her kingdom from invasion of his own kind. Though she couldn't save herself and committed Jauhar, Humayun gave the kingdom to her son. But it remained one of the major Hindu festivals, which turned into a festival Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb and bhaichara.
The ritual of Rakhi has long lived in Sanatan history, and that's why Rani Karnavati chose to practice it.

On 18th Sep, @ 7:30 pm, my husband was returning from d store with groceries,he saw 8-10 kids sitting on d Luas(tram) station bench n continued walking home. As he took the sidewalk to home,he was jolted by a punch on d back of his Skull. 1/n

He just had a fraction of second to turn back n watch himself getting ambushed by a pack of teens n within seconds they rained punches,targeting his Skull n face.
My husband tried to defend but he was being punched blind, all he could think of was to run away. N thankfully he did

Originally from West Bengal, his experience with Konyak tribe in Nagaland helped him get a job in Andaman and Nicobar islands as a health officer.

In 1998, a measles like disease hit the Jarawa tribe in the village of Kadmatla and Lakhralungta of Andaman and Nicobar islands.
The Jarawa tribe was known to shoot strangers with poison arrows at sight but it didn't deter Dr. Kar.

He not only introduced himself with gifts,coconuts n bananas but made door to door visits to befriend them.
The first day,he entered a hut n put ointment on an injured tribal.
