3/6 #Adani have sold their #Myanmar port to a mysterious company named Solar Energy Ltd for $30M. Who is this company and where are they based? Who is the ultimate beneficial owner of Solar Energy Ltd? What, if any, human rights due diligence has Adani conducted on this company?
4/6 #Adani have only been forced to exit #Myanmar because they were caught red-handed & freaked out about investor backlash. Not because they’ve suddenly developed a conscience. Adani’s belated divestment doesn’t change the fact they misled investors and the people of Myanmar.
5/6 #Adani told the world they were exiting #Myanmar back in 2021, but behind the scenes were seeking new business deals with sanctioned military generals and referring to them as ‘your excellency’. Adani are proven liars and investors would be fools to trust a word they say.
6/6 Before being forced to exit Adani provided millions of $$ to the #Myanmar military that has enabled the junta’s campaign of terror. If #Adani have even a shred of decency they will put the proceeds from the sale of their port into a fund for victims of the junta’s atrocities.
