🧵Here's how @jasonluan88 is lying to his constituents: He goes to bat saying that a K-9 school in Nolan Hill was approved. Okay, cool. But he never specified CCSD or CBE. Because students attend both divisions. ⬇️ (1/) #ableg#abpoli#FiretheUCP
Now, Jason was right that a school did get fully funded in Nolan Hill. But Jason wasn't clear as to whether the school would be a CCSD school or a CBE school. So I did a simple Google search and found this ⬇️. This matters because there are parents that send kids to CBE too. (2/)
So, while Jason is up to bat saying "Hey we got a school funded!! Look at us go!" CBE parents see no solution in sight for the Nolan Hill area, and none in sight as evidenced on the Alberta Major Projects site ⬅️ and the CBE school map ➡️. (3/)
Families in Nolan Hill that wish to attend a CBE school have no choice but to commute to get there. There's no CBE school in sight for Nolan Hill and the school on the Major Projects site is proposed in Evanston. (4/)
Jason knew the UCP didn't get a CBE school across the finish line in Nolan Hill and he didn't care. He tweeted out "Hey we got a K-9 school going on up here" without any care if it was CBE or CCSD. Further, guess when the announcement was. March 1, 2023 ⬇️. (5/)
So, with more students walking through the doors at a CBE school in 2023-24 and with people like @jasonluan88 at the helm not getting projects funded, you can count on your class sizes going up because of typical UCP heel dragging. (6/)
Families in Calgary-Foothills have a choice in two weeks: Gamble with the UCP and risk not seeing a Nolan Hill CBE school get built, or elect @CourtEllingson and he'll step up to the plate for you. It's clear the UCP won't stand up for your needs. (7/)
Calgary, there literally is no upside to electing Jason and the UCP to get schools across the finish line so your child can learn in a class that isn't overcrowded. Vote them out. They're chronic liars, they withhold information, and they can't get the job done. (8/end)

The UCP wants you to think businesses will end up paying some sort of exorbitant amount, so they use a bigger percentage number because that suits their interests.
But if you break down the math and you look at it logically, it's not all that bad. (2/)
I can think of a way already to help businesses make up for this: How about not allowing electricity companies to use economic withholding to jack up electricity prices? More money in your pocket = more money to spend AT A BUSINESS. (3/)
🧵Put yourself in the position of someone who was forced to evacuate yesterday. Your life was just turned upside down, you're sitting in the passenger seat of your car, and you check social media. (1/8) #ableg#abpoli#FiretheUCP
You figure, you're driving to an evacuation center, might as well let people know you're okay while you're on your way. First thing you see though is Dani on the podium at a Calgary UCP fundraiser. Then you scroll further to see the buffet and UCP branded ice sculpture. (2/8)
Then you look in your own rear view window and the orange smoky sky dominates your line of sight. Immediately, the contrast is clear. Dani's been partying it up while you've been packing your most valuable items, not knowing if you're going to see your home ever again. (3/8)
