However, these notes will retain their status as legal tender.

Let's understand what's going on in a simple way 👇

#2000rs #2000notes #rbi Image
Q. What was the objective of ₹2000 banknotes?

A. The ₹2000 denomination banknotes were introduced in 2016 to address the currency requirement following the withdrawal of ₹500 and ₹1000 banknotes.

Printing of these notes stopped in 2018-19 as the objective was fulfilled.
Q. Why are ₹2000 denomination banknotes being withdrawn?

A. Most of the ₹2000 notes were issued before March 2017 and have reached their estimated lifespan.

The decision has been made considering these factors and the RBI's Clean Note Policy.

How to analyse Banking Stocks?

• Net Interest Margin(NIM)
• Return on Assets(ROA)
• Non Performing Assets(NPAs)
• CASA Ratio

Let's analyse each one in detail 🧵⤵️

#StockMarketindia #banks
The business of bank is quite different frm the rest.

Banks accept deposits from common people & promise a certain rate of interest in return. It lends this money to borrowers & charges higher interest.

The diff between both is called spread which is bank’s actual profit
For Eg, a bank offers 6% interest to its depositors & charges 10% from its borrowers.

The diff between the two 4% (called spread) will be bank’s profit.

As the business stands unique, the analysis of these stocks is also unique.

So, let's break them down one by one⤵️ Image

How do banks operate?

They take deposits from us 💸, lend most of these deposits out to others & earn high interest rate🤑, They make MONEY 💰, They make more money by investing into other things like BONDS

However, these bonds did not work out for - SVB ⚖️
SVB became greedy, let us explain -

After covid, central bank of US lowered the interest rates to enourage borrowings. But at the same time, VCs invested in a lot of startups too. So, startups didn't take loans but deposited more. Which resulted in a lot of extra cash with SVB.
