I think Nollywood is trying and improving with the kinda quality movies we’ve been seeing since the last 5-10yrs. Gangs of Lagos, Brotherhood, Rattlesnake: The Aham Story, King of Boys, Blood Sisters, etc… Great acting, sleek visuals and believable storylines, to say the least. Image
If you ask me, I think also that perhaps it’s high time we ventured into animation/fantasy films as well, with epic storytelling and likable stock characters that have the capability to blossom into cult-like followings and household names among both adults and children alike.
Take for example, Hollywood’s Marvel and DC Comics. I believe it must’ve taken massive lots of creativity, vision and of course funding for something like DCverse to be what it is today. You’ve got great fictional characters like Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Green Lantern,
The Joker, Blue Beetle, Antman, Superwoman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Thor, etc. These superhero characters and fantasy/adventure stories make Hollywood tick and rake in millions of dollars per release from fans.

So, I was just thinking, how about something like this in Nollywood?
In a society/continent where we’ve got hundreds and thousands of gods/goddesses and legendary ancestors, is it out of reach/place/bounds to carve beautiful, entertaining stories (which may or may not be factual) around these, all building up to massive fan-fiction franchises?
Why are we, apparently, yet to explore such levels of creativity and vision? For one, these stories would tell a lot about the histories, mythologies, and realities of our African tribes, of which could be didactic and also contribute to cultural diversity and preservation.
Like, imagine characters like Amadioha, Sango, Ogun, Ekwensu, Elem, Ani, Orunmila, Eshu, Ezenwaanyi Mmiri, Anyanwu, etc. all gathered in an ensemble cast of a thriller, epic showdown. (You’ll love it and I think we deserve it.😃)

Imagine Ogun inventing a spacecraft that takes
Tinubu to Pluto😂, or Ani creating a portal between the past and the present so Nigerians can reject Buhari in 2015. Or Ekwensu not being the devil but a highly misunderstood genius and canny businessman.

Well, I can understand that even considering such an idea can be
misconstrued as blasphemy, a taboo against certain traditions and religious groups, let alone implementing it. Open/liberal mindedness and visionary leadership, I get, is still a far cry in this part of the world, so it’s gonna be a real uphill task. Expect censorships et al but
I hope a day comes when we get to retell our Africanness from our own perspective and predict our future, one story at a time. If science fiction can, ‘Afro fiction’ can too.

It’s a world of imagination without borders.

End.

For the most part, the way blues & pop albums trigger emotions in listeners is the same way religious (Christian) (worship) songs trigger emotions in their target audience. It is not the Holy Spirit at work, but your pastorpreneur getting you “in tune” for seamless programming.
Have you ever wondered why praise and worship sessions are ALWAYS held BEFORE church sermon and/or the almighty OFFERING TIME? 🤔😃

It actually takes a good and kindhearted/understanding woman to contribute/support FINANCIALLY in the upkeep/welfare of the home and kids, AND NOT MAKE A FUSS out of it, especially if she earns as much as or even more than her man.

I’ll explain.
For starters, of course, the man gats appreciate/merit the ‘favor’ for her not to make a fuss about it.

‘Favor’, in the sense that, traditionally it’s the man’s gender role to PROVIDE, PROTECT, and DIRECT the home.

Often, a man’s ‘qualification’ to do the last two hinges on…
…his ability to provide. (You don’t really protect or direct a household you don’t provide for, right?)

Just as circumstances may occur which hampers a married woman’s ability to perform her traditional gender role of cooking and cleaning (in which the man may have to step in),

There are usernames on Twitter that have literally been inactive for up to a decade now. Who knows, the owners might be dead, details irretrievably forgotten, or they permanently abandoned their account.

(This certainly doesn’t reflect the true number of active Twitter users.)
Such usernames could be wanted/desired by someone else in the present day who, however, can’t claim such. So, I’m thinking aloud here: Why not @Twitter treat our usernames like, say, web domains/URLs that can be reserved and/or purchased/sold for a premium?
For instance, let’s say I need a Twitter username to match my new product but it’s been taken up by someone else whose last activity was in 2012. If all attempts to reach the current owner has failed, I’d be happy to reach out to @TwitterSupport for an ‘audit’ of the username…

What 3 things would make me believe in my nation’s government? 🤔

1. Rule of law: APC at the top has failed Nigerians unprecedentedly in this wise: impunity, segregation, etc. Where there’s no unity and justice, or faith/trust in the system, how can there be peace & progress?
2. Lean government: Excessive running costs of ‘governance’. We’ve made Nigerian politics so lucrative/attractive that people can’t think outside the box to create value and use our limited resources sustainably. If FAANG companies can layoff staff to cut down running costs,
why can’t we cut down the excesses of our employees: the elected public officials!?

3. Agile management: Where there’s responsive and responsible Leadership, the results cut across all sectors: security, healthcare, manufacturing, education, sports, law, etc.

Some people actually had given up on their marriages but only chose to stay/live together just cos of the kids.

Respect ✊🏽
More than you believe, every child deserves some form of emotional stability which comes from a balance of both masculine and feminine parental energies during their formative years. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Much as I believe that no one intentionally gets married to get divorced soon later (unless gold diggers), but yunno sh!t happens: partners can outgrow each other, abuse/betrayal can set in, etc. etc. which could necessitate putting asunder what your hormones had joined together.

Jsyk, some people are/remain poor in 🇳🇬 not only because of the fallout of bad governance but because they refused to compromise their strong life-guiding principles and values no matter what.

1/4
Yes, some people literally refused to do yahoo, hookup, bootlick politicians, forge figures and inflate contracts, rob a bank/shop/home, do ritual, etc. and have stood by such decisions no matter what.

2/4
For a lot of these people, it’s not that they’re not creating value to society, or hardworking enough, but the fact that they come from very limiting backgrounds and they’ve refused to cut corners, means they’ve literally signed their ‘death warrant’ to weaponized poverty…
