Oleksandr Makarevych, 22, from Chernihiv has joined Ukraine’s Armed Forces in September 2021.

He went missing on 26 June this year near Bakhmut. Until 10 October, his family did not know anything about what happened to him.

Oleksandr recalls his 108 days in captivity ⬇️ 1/10
“The exchange took place in Bakhmut, Donetsk, on a minefield.”

“We walked 1.5 kilometers (~a mile) on a straight road. There were 32 of us, one was wounded. The 33rd, who died in combat, was carried in our hands.”

After the liberation of Kherson, Russia can only retreat to Crimea. But there is one nuance ⬇️

When in July 2022 Ukrainian forces targeted the Antonivskyi bridge for the first time it became clear there's only one way out for the Russian troops on the right bank: retreat.

The process of retreat lasted about a month in October. Its final stage took place on 8-11 November👇 Image
The Ukrainian artillery can now reach the Russian troops all the way to Crimea.

The lack of terrain elements that can be used for defence puts Russians in an awkward position.

Control over military aid to Ukraine, incl. logistics, communication & monitoring, is handled by the Control Centre at European Command of the US Armed Forces in Stuttgart.

The Centre, established after a meeting of 42 MoDs, hosts representatives of Ukraine & 15 donor states.
