As the wait for for the long-anticipated Ukraine’s counteroffensive continues, Russian propaganda machine has started preparing the public for various scenarios.
📰 Last week, Russian propaganda media reported successful strikes on Western weapon systems in Ukraine, claiming the domination of Russian weapons:
“The Patriot systems are highly vulnerable. A working radar of a Patriot system gives out its local from miles away making it… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
📰 Another narrative that Russia's disinformation media were circulating last week was the claim that Russia had learned to target and destroy Ukraine’s HIMARS launchers.
According to Russian propaganda, the Russian army has found a weak spot in their guidance systems:
📰 Russia's propagandist media tried to convince their audiences that in light of the upcoming counteroffensive Russian army will be able to deal with the Western tanks as well:
❌“Russian army is ready to go hunting for Leopards.”
📰 At the same time, Russian media avoid saying why Russia did not secure air superiority in Ukraine before the Patriots have been delivered.
The bragging about the mighty Russian superweapons is one of the main narratives that Russia has been spreading to Western audiences.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

How does the network of Russian propaganda bots work through Facebook around the world? We’ve had a closer look and learnt that their recipe for success is quite simple.
Hop on, buckle up, our journey begins in Cambodia ⬇ 🧵

Cambodia is the place where administrators who manage one of Russia's propaganda pages are registered. It didn’t take us too long to find the group either – its name appeared in Facebook recommendations after we viewed several other pages promoting Russian disinformation.

At first glance, it may seem that the public page was set up by an ordinary Khmer girl who, for some reason, used a photo of Putin in her profile and chose a rather “unique” username Victoria Paris.
The “capture of Soledar” was dominating headlines in Russian media last week. To add further significance, Russian propagandists generated multiple fakes about battle specifics.
▶️News about fighting in #Soledar & #Bakhmut appeared alongside stories on peace talks, another hot topic of Russian propaganda:
📰“Russia is ready for peace talks, but should they fail, we will not hesitate using military force to reach the objectives of special operation”

▶️ Furthermore, Russian media kept repeating that Europe has become completely dependent on American gas, and that Washington has got the EU under its heel:
📰 “Anglo-Saxons have bent Europe into submission by depriving it of geopolitical independence.”

Oleksandr Makarevych, 22, from Chernihiv has joined Ukraine’s Armed Forces in September 2021.
He went missing on 26 June this year near Bakhmut. Until 10 October, his family did not know anything about what happened to him.

“The exchange took place in Bakhmut, Donetsk, on a minefield.”
“We walked 1.5 kilometers (~a mile) on a straight road. There were 32 of us, one was wounded. The 33rd, who died in combat, was carried in our hands.”

“On 26 June a battle broke out & I saw my friend talking to a bearded man. He looked like a Chechen dressed in our uniform. He pointed a machine gun at my friend.
My friend asked: What are you doing? We’re on the same side.
The man replied: You got it wrong, we are not.”
When in July 2022 Ukrainian forces targeted the Antonivskyi bridge for the first time it became clear there's only one way out for the Russian troops on the right bank: retreat.
The process of retreat lasted about a month in October. Its final stage took place on 8-11 November👇
The Ukrainian artillery can now reach the Russian troops all the way to Crimea.
The lack of terrain elements that can be used for defence puts Russians in an awkward position.
In fact, they already began withdrawing equipment from the Chaplynka airfield fearing destruction👇
Hyped-up scandals around the alleged misuse of West-supplied weapons in Ukraine have recently circled the news both in Russia & Western information space.
Such accusations are harmful & groundless. Western weapons are under reliable control in Ukraine.
Here are 8 reasons why ⬇️
1⃣
Verified information about the use of weapons and military equipment provided to Ukraine by Western allies is available to the responsible government structures of Ukraine and partner states.
2⃣
Control over military aid to Ukraine, incl. logistics, communication & monitoring, is handled by the Control Centre at European Command of the US Armed Forces in Stuttgart.
The Centre, established after a meeting of 42 MoDs, hosts representatives of Ukraine & 15 donor states.
Activists, volunteers, human rights defenders and media have launched a campaign demanding the resignation of Amnesty International's senior leadership.
