Here's an ancient riddle. Why did the ghost of Socrates block me? I don't recall interacting with him or his ghost in this or a former life Image
Not that I mind! (don't tag him) It's just funny,
I don't think we need Socrates or his caliber to figure this stuff out. 2x15 minutes coffee break google seems to be enough.

Anyway, throwback to a thread written when China still pursued #ZeroCovid policy. They're in big trouble now (as everyone else) 🖖
Scratch that, Socrates is over 65 yo - he's going on 2,492 by my count? - but we clearly need to philosopher up. Our current MDs and policymakers keep giving themselves chronic SARS-CoV-2 infection. 🤷‍♂️👻

1. Now that’s a solo! Climate protest thread

Shell execs can smirk and say “we keep civilization running”, and they would be right. Yet running civilization into climate hell is a low-creativity low-value add use of your time and talent, wouldn’t you say?

t’s a systems problem
2. The system can currently only keep up appearances by going ever deeper into denial. That’s good for pathologically shortsighted people without conscience and bad for almost all humanity long term.
3. You have precisely zero arguments against this graph, and you've known for more than 40 years. ht @BenFranta ImageImage

1. To address disinformation, do the truth-sandwich. Analysis of 81 million health records shows SARS-CoV-2 infection increases epilepsy and seizure. It's not the vaccine—which helped PREVENT this. 👇 Recall the video footage from Wuhan 2020? #diedsuddenly n.neurology.org/content/100/8/… Image
3. Know the basics. It will get complex

Red queen theory refers to evolution and system dynamics, illustrated by @ricard_sole. Unglycosylated variants in Wuhan like Orf8:N78Q (would have) caused cytokine storm and seizure.

Orf8:N78 glycosylation blocks interaction with IL-17RA. ImageImageImage

SARS-CoV-2 causes Alzheimer’s and other neurocognitive disease. @AlzResearchUK and everyone else should recommend N95 masks to prevent AD. Not rocket science, friends.
@AlzResearchUK Remarkable what 2x15 minutes google search can turn up. Anyone with an internet connection and high school level education can do this.
@AlzResearchUK 2x15 minutes, that's an extended coffee break. Time well invested if it can help you or loved ones avoid dementia.

Anyone with climate or public health background should live and breathe the PrecautionaryPrinciple. Learn from them.

Germany shut @AufstandLastGen. This will be challenged in court, but criminalization of climate activism continues apace. One of the reasons I focus on SARS-CoV, ie real-world decarbonization, is that a virus is immune to this kind of bs politics. It only responds to real action.
2. Previously on everyone’s favorite show, “Let’s criminalize protest instead of addressing existential climate risk.”
3. April 2022. It’s not like this has been blindingly obvious for years,

Please admire this unscientific trolling of @fitterhappierAJ by Profs. @Marc_Veld @Anto_Berto. The paper is dead on arrival because many patients don’t clear SARS-CoV-2, whose Nsp5 antagonizes CIITA.

Henceforth this will be my default reference for the demise of western science.
@fitterhappierAJ @Marc_Veld @Anto_Berto 2. That’s a retrovirus feature seen in HIV-1, HTLV-1 and -2, and now SARS-CoV-2. I put this paper in the Ebola virus thread because MHC class II transactivator (CIITA) plays a role in Ebola. Both Profs. just lost whatever credibility they had left.
3. The Profs are describing - or failing to name? - seroconversion or convalescence and viral persistence. Viral clearance is wishful thinking with no scientific basis whatsoever. I would be ashamed to put this out in writing and I don’t even have a PhD. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/im…

1. Climate is a high-leverage point if you address it as a systems problem. Many—even climate scientists—, only focus on 'CO2.' That's the difference between systems thinkers and asystemic linear or group thinkers. You need ST to solve S problems.

That's why mental models matter ImageImageImage
2. Shortest explanation for why I focus on the SARS pandemic from a climate or systems governance POV. Why not everyone else? I have no idea.

The question constantly comes up, so it's clearly not intuitive to people.
3. All this is simple and intuitive after some practice. Any kid can do it too. We just don't teach them. System dynamics isn't even part of the primary or middle school curriculum

But no worries there, we will get lots of practice in the coming years. 🥰
