Call me transphobic all you want, companies don't exist to fight culture wars. Companies exist to make money & when company executives lose sight of that & go off on their personal cultural war crusades, they cost their companies big money. Think Disney.

This is why Troy Aikman has come out & said his new beer company will simply stay focused on making great beer & stay away from taking political positions on the hot button culture wars the day.

People are just far too consumed w/politics to focus strictly on a product & NOT the politics of the company owners. Now me personally, I don't give AF about an owners' politics as long as they make a good product or offer a great service. Case in point. Lets go Chic-Fil-A.

Remember when the LGBTQ community tried to shut down & cancel Chic-Fil-A because of their owner's views on homosexuality? Chic-Fiil-A didn't lose any business. In fact, Chic-Fil-A's business exploded. Love it.

I love Chic-Fil-A & I don't give a fuck if the owner was a card carrying Klansman who wore a noose for a tie while checking me out at the counter. I'm still ordering that # 1 combo with large waffle fries and a large lemonade, light ice. Burp.

Likewise, if Lil Nas X & Saucy Santana opened a chicken shack that served flaming hot chicken wings with creamy cummy ranch sauce & it was delicious, I'm buying it. Don't give a fuck about yo' politics, your sexuality or religion. If the product or service is good, I'm buying it.

Mafuckas who think differently are engaging in what I call "Cotton Logic," meaning they are demanding purity in the supply chain of everything they purchase. By this logic, no black person should ever wear cotton. Black people picked cotton for centuries but we still wear cotton.

Can you imagine if niggas boycotted all cotton products? Fuck dat. I ain't wearing no polyester or wool all year round. Likewise, I'm gone keeping eating fried chicken & watermelon, & I will occasionally have a Fanta grape soda while grinning widely & smacking my big greasy lips.

Seriously, the point I'm making is that what goods & products I buy are divorced my politics for this simply reason:

THE PUREST WATER IS WITHOUT FISH.

Fish need some impurity to survive. Likewise, human beings can't survive off purity. We'd starve off and die.

Those who seek purity are on a fools errand. I dont give AF who you buy from, there is something somewhere in their supply chain or ownership model you wont like. I remember when I was getting married, the exhaustive search I went thru 2make sure I didn't purchase blood diamonds.

I actually have a form certifying that my wife's ring isn't a conflict diamond, but how do you really know if you didn't personally dig it up? We found out later that there is entire racket of falsifying these conflict free diamond certifications. You never really know.

Its like a vegan discovering Beyond Meat was made inside the same factory that made pork sausage. Furthermore, if you personally knew the owners of every business you shopped with & you had cotton logic, you probably would not shop with anyone of them. Real talk.

Consider the fact that most of our chocolate is made through child slavery. Same with our cell phones that contain graphite & other natural resources mined by child slaves. Same w/most of our electronics, tennis shoes & other things made in sweat shops.

Most people could not handle if they saw the full supply chain of the common products they have in their home. There is no product you can buy that doesn't have some form of human exploitation, climate change altering, or some other horrible shit in its supply chain.

If U applied cotton logic to your entire life, you'd be forced 2 walk around naked, homeless, starving & walk NOT drive everywhere. Our supply chains are determined by things other than morality & b/c of globalization, we are so intertwined that none of us can divorce from it.

I'm not arguing the wrong or right of it all. I'm simply stating the reality of capitalism. We are all co-conspirators to this madness. However, companies will not be in business too long if they listen to activists who demand purity in their business dealings.

Think the Philadelphia Eagles, who had the smarts to only listen to their ticket holders & ignored animal rights activists who protested their hiring of Michael Vick fresh out of jail for dogfighting charges. Philly fans didnt give AF bout nunnadat. Dey only cared about football.

The fact of the matter is most businesses can't survive just pandering to a small community, which is why it is wise for them to stay neutral. Culture wars will come & go, but you do not want your business' bottom line being affected by the ebbs & flows of culture wars emotions.

More companies need 2take the Switzerland route. How do U think Switzerland remained unscathed during World War 2 while countries all around them were being bombed? NEUTRALITY. W/the exception a few accidental border skirmishes, Switzerland has avoided the fate of other nations.

Likewise, the marketplace is no place 4taking the side of anything other than profit. The minute an owner loses focus of this, their business is in great peril. Perhaps this explains how a black man could become wealthy selling Confederate flags. My nigga.
