"At the core, the American citizen soldiers knew the difference between right and wrong, and they didn't want to live in a world in which wrong prevailed. So they fought, and won, and we all of us, living and yet to be born, must be forever profoundly grateful." - Stephen Ambrose

I recently watched an episode of the @MegynKellyShow with @KrugAlli concerning the HPV vaccine. There are number of factual errors in the discussion, mainly concerning the national history of CIN and autoimmune diseases.
I've pointed out to Ms. Krug several times that the standard of care is treatment of precancerous disease. To do otherwise is an ethical lapse, and we've known that for decades.
Here's a 2018 meta analysis of the safety of these vaccines. There's no increased risk of autoimmunity after vaccination. There are 109 studies in this meta analysis, with 2.5 million subjects. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29280070/
I was catching up on Twitter yesterday and came across this thread concerning testimony at the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. There were inaccurate statements made by Dr. Mackary (@MartyMakary) concerning pregnancy and #COVID19. (1/7)
The relevant testimony starts at approximately 2:52. Dr. Mackary is discussing populations that are "extremely low risk." Later he states "should pregnant women get the vaccine?" and "is it safe in pregnancy?" (2/7)
We have multiple studies on these topics, and the most sobering data are concerning maternal mortality. We are looking at a 30 to 40 % increase in maternal mortality in the USA due to COVID. (3/7)
