Pertussis vaccination during pregnancy has been recommended for the last ten years. There are excellent data on the safety and efficacy of these vaccines during pregnancy. TL;DR version - vaccination protects newborns. (1/6) Image there's a number of studies about protection of newborns, pertussis vaccination during pregnancy prevent hospitalizations and ICU admissions. There have been many high quality publications about influenza and pregnancy since the 2009 pandemic, I saw this inaccurate information posted today on Twitter. I recently watched an episode of the @MegynKellyShow with @KrugAlli concerning the HPV vaccine. There are number of factual errors in the discussion, mainly concerning the national history of CIN and autoimmune diseases. I've pointed out to Ms. Krug several times that the standard of care is treatment of precancerous disease. To do otherwise is an ethical lapse, and we've known that for decades.

I was catching up on Twitter yesterday and came across this thread concerning testimony at the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. There were inaccurate statements made by Dr. Mackary (@MartyMakary) concerning pregnancy and #COVID19. (1/7) The relevant testimony starts at approximately 2:52. Dr. Mackary is discussing populations that are "extremely low risk." Later he states "should pregnant women get the vaccine?" and "is it safe in pregnancy?" (2/7)
