@NassMeryl The FDA wants YOU to ‘snitch’ on ‘misinformation spreaders’ 🚨
The @FDA just updated its Rumor Control hub, launched last August, aimed at enlisting the public to help stop the spread of “misinformation.”
Here's what you need to know:
They define misinformation as information that is “false, inaccurate, or misleading … spreading intentionally and unintentionally” and claim that it “spreads 6x faster than the facts.” 🤔
According to AP, the FDA also can use a tactic known as “prebunking,” by which the agency defines something as “misinformation” before readers have an opportunity to encounter it elsewhere as possibly true.
