For every Sachin, there is Ramakant who coached him.
Likewise, for Vinayak, there was Ganesh, his eldest brother.
Let us know more about Babarao as he was fondly called on his Jayanti.
Ganesh Damodar Savarkar was born on this day in 1879.
From his childhood, Babarao was
interested in our Itihasa and Purana's & also Yoga Kriya which left a deep impression on him.
Babarao, had to cut short his studies, as being the eldest son, had to take care of his 3 siblings as their parents passed away.
(Vinayak Studied Law & Ganesh became a Doctor).
As I mentioned above, the sacrifice of Babarao left deep impression on his siblings and they followed his principles, FOR LIFETIME.
It was 1905, Babarao from Maharashtra, opposed Bengal's partition and at the same time, he took care of Abhinav Bharat,
a secret organisation established for Bharat's freedom by his younger brother Vinayak.
Under Babarao, Abhinav Bharath expanded rapidly, it has branches both at neighbouring Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh and also their members joined Govt service including Delhi's secretariat.
During this time, Vinayak from London started sending Guns, Ammunitions hiding it in Bible & Ganesh used to distribute it with Revolutionary Freedom fighters.
Between all these, once Babarao was assaulted by a Brit for organising and singing Vande Mataram at a function,
Babarao caught the Brit by his neck and for that, he was punished in Jail.
As Babarao continued his tirade against British, he got falsely accused in Nasik Conspiracy Case and was sent to Cellular Jail on Sedition Charges...
Before that, all the properties of Savarkar family
was confiscated by British and to teach lesson for fellow revolutionaries, British made Babarao Savarkar in chains across Nasik town.
To avenge this, Karve, Deshpande and Kanhare, killed Majistrate Jackson in a theatre.
Ganesh Damodar Savarkar, reached Cellular Jail on
July 4th 1911 and he met Vinayak Damodar Savarkar after 2 years.
And both brothers didn't even know they were staying at a same place since 2 years.
(Tell me which Gandhi or Nehru suffered this kind of mental and physical torture)
By 1919, health condition of Babarao worsened due to extensive physical torture by British and Babarao was released under general amnesty after repeated petitions from Tilak and Surendranath Bannerjee.
After transfer from Andaman,
Babarao was placed at Alipore, Bijapur and after a solitary confinement of 8 months, was shifted to Sabarmati Jail in January 1922.
The British realised that, riots will happen if Babarao dies in Jail and after 13 long years, Babarao was set free.
Out of Jail,
Babarao came to know that MKG had hijacked the freedom movement by his nonsense Satyagraha and Ahimsa and to rise Hindu Consciousness, Babarao established Tarun Hindu Sabha in 1924.
At this time, the confluence of 2 mighty minds happened..
Dr Hedgewar met Babarao at Nagpur.
This formed a relationship which we owe till today.
Many people are unaware that it was
Babarao Savarkar who wrote the Pratigna for Sangh and later merged Abhinav Bharath, Tarun Hindu Sabha with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
As his health condition improved,
Babarao along with Dr Hedgewar started touring all across Maharashtra to rope in more youth for RSS and on March 16th 1945, the eldest of Savarkar Brother's Ganesh Damodar Savarkar joined Maa Bhavani's feet.
(I have left instances of Muslims torturing Hindus at Cellular Jail as I don't have substantial proof for the same.)
I’m pretty sure, most of you have never heard his name, AND YOU WILL KNOW WHY, by the time you finish reading this thread.
The Men Who Killed Gandhi’ is a painstaking journey that began in 1960 as an assignment from Life International, and it came out as a story in its
February 1968 issue.
But, by then, Malgonkar had realized that his story and the research behind it warranted a book, much more than just a magazine article. So, he sat down to enlarge the story with inputs from several sources, of which the Kapur Commission’s report
Nurtured By Biju Patnaik, Destroyed By Jyoti Basu.
He Conquered all the Ocean's of the world, Padma Bhushan Recepient and a successful businessman, but couldn't withstand the waves of political vendetta by Jyoti Basu.
The man who swam into world record books by conquering the English Channel and Palk Straits, said this
“I had undertaken this perilous swim not to gain fame or trophies but to prove once again to the world that Indians are no longer afraid”.
Bishan Tandon's book on events leading to imposition of Emergency, PMO Diary, said that Indira Gandhi was "terribly afraid" of this person becoming the CJI.

Ladies...
Did you know that #Lakme you use is named after Maha Lakshmi?
The idea behind establishing Lakme was born after Nehru approached JRD Tata to indigenously produce cosmetics as Indian women were splurging the country’s precious foreign reserves on foreign make-up brands.
Lakmé was introduced as India’s first homegrown cosmetics brand in 1952. It was a subsidiary of Tata Oil Mills.
The name Lakme is a French word for Maha Lakshmi, known for her beauty. This was suggested by the brand’s French collaborators, Robert Piguet and Renoir.
Lakme was a popular opera in France by Léo Delibes, named after its protagonist who was inspired by the Indian goddess.
Lakme was groundbreaking for the Indian market because it offered cosmetics suitable for Indian skin types, for which extensive research was carried out.
