There's this feeling you get when there is another presence in the house. Katsuki has been in this lonely apartment for years, that the slightest sound can stir him awake in the middle of the night.
He's just barely awake the next morning when the sounds of his kitchen fan vent wakes him up. Followed by the sound of the spatula lightly scraping a pan.
Ahh yes, that would be Deku. But what the hell is he doing?
Katsuki puts on a shirt, over nothing but his boxers. He surprises himself for a second at his own locked door.
Huh?
Oh yeah, he locked it last night. It's not that Deku is giving 'danger vibes', but he can't trust the man yet. Katsuki is not naive enough to trust a stranger.
As soon as he opens the door, the smell of delicious, creamy pancakes hits his nose.
His small table is set with two plates and two glasses of orange juice. The coffee machine quietly brews in the corner.
Meanwhile, Deku hums as he gently pokes the sides of pancake batter
in the pan, checking to see if it’s ready to flip.
Thankfully (or not thankfully) Deku is still wearing Katsuki’s old UA T-shirt.
"Oi Deku, you didn’t have to make breakfast."
Deku startles as if he’s caught red-handed. He turns to Katsuki, "Oh! Good morning, Katsuki-san. Well, it's the least I could do for letting me stay. Please sit, I'll serve the pancakes."
Katsuki's palate has a high-standard.
He doesn't just eat anything that he himself did not make. When people make food, they make it simply because they need something to eat.
For Katsuki, he cooks and eats to savor the taste of the food.
He has mastered the perfect recipe for a lot of dishes, including fluffy pancakes.
Deku serves the pancakes and sits across from Katsuki. There's an excited glint in his eyes as he waits for Katsuki to try it.
On Katsuki's first bite, a low growl escapes his throat. Sweet Mary pancakes! These are fucking delicious.
"Fuck, that's good!" Katsuki takes another bite.
This is a good breakfast. He's eating excellent pancakes, and Deku is smiling genuinely at him. It hits his heart a bit too hard, because damn. His smile is so pretty.
"I knew you’d like it. It's my best friend's recipe. He taught me how to make it."

As days go by, Katsuki gets used to that feeling that there's another presence in his apartment.
Deku continues to stay with him and they both develop a habit. After dinner, they watch a series or a film.
The lingering tension that Deku is still a stranger keeps them apart at opposite ends of the couch.
Sometimes, Katsuki makes a new video for his cooking videos channel (during this time, Katsuki appreciates how Deku keeps to himself quietly in the living room).
And then they say ‘goodnight's’.
Deku unfolds and lays the sheets down on the sofa, while Katsuki goes to his room and locks his door. He lays down and waits for sleep that used to come to him early.
But now, he lies awake, listening to the sounds that Deku makes.
Katsuki is well acquainted with the silence in his apartment, which makes him aware how late Deku stays awake because of all the sounds of tossing and turning.
What kind of home does Deku have? Where does he come from?
Eventually, Katsuki falls asleep and he always wakes with breakfast ready.
Deku always cooks for him and Katsuki can't fathom how his cooking is just as good as his own.

When Katsuki comes back home after a long day at work, his apartment is always empty.
It’s one thing to get used to the feeling of having Deku around, but to come home and see the apartment empty again fills Katsuki with a strange melancholy.
It grows itself inside his heart as days go by.
Is today the day when Deku finds out how to go back to where he came from? Has Deku left completely now?
But like always, his doorbell rings a few hours later, and Katsuki sighs with unexplainable relief. He opens the door.
Deku has not left.
He stands on the other side of the door.
When Katsuki asks him about where he goes, Deku only tells him that he's figuring out a way back from where he came from.
Katsuki offers him money because maybe the flight tickets are expensive,
but Deku tells him that it's not what he needs to return.
Katsuki is not 100% sure, but he sometimes suspects that Deku must be doing some shady stuff. For how else can he explain it?
'Musutafu' may be a code word for a secret syndicate's hideout.
Or maybe Deku is a hitman, for a high profile crime organization or something.
It has to be.
Unless he gets warped in here from another parallel dimension, which is a work of science fiction and can't possibly happen.
Lol.

There are days when Deku returns to Katsuki's apartment, all battered and bruised. There are cuts on his skin, like he flew into a whirlwind of broken glass.
The first time Katsuki sees him like this, he panics and surprises himself at his amount of concern for this man.
Katsuki angrily tells him to sit down on the dining table chair, as he takes out the first aid kit. "What the fuck did you do?? Roll down the fucking mountain?"
"Kind of like that..." Deku wobbles towards him, with a guilty look on his face.
His imaginary tail between his legs, like a wounded dog. And just like a loyal pet, he obeys Katsuki. He sits down and lets Katsuki gently clean and tend to his wounds.
Deku keeps his eyes on him the whole time, occasionally wincing when Katsuki presses down too hard on a cut, but the stars on his eyes linger.
Katsuki is not used to someone staring at him as if he's the most amazing human in the world, but when Deku stares at him like this, Katsuki feels like he’s the greatest hero.
Now if only Deku will stop being reckless, that would be great.

Everything is “just alright” with Bakugou Katsuki.
He works as a researcher in a chemical company. He gets paid for it handsomely and he never has to work late. But his work remains to be challenging enough to keep him interested for a long while.
hello, this is a rare moment in my posts where I will have to ask you to please read the tags :D Take these for your protection.
After work, he goes home to his fancy one-bedroom apartment. He cooks dinner for himself, watches some shows by himself and then he occasionally calls his mother when it’s been a month since their last chat.
He has his hobbies on the side, where he makes cooking videos.
No one told Pro-hero Katsuki that he will fall in love in a clinic at 6AM, with a guy who is probably x10 out of his league.
But it all started when Katsuki had to do community service because of some "damage" his explosions caused in the city.
He is given a choice on what community service he wants to do: Cleaning up Dagobah beach, boring. Maybe if All Might promises him OFA then Katsuki will clean it up. But not today.
Planting trees in the nearby forest is also an option, apparently many heroes end up destroying the trees because of their quirks.
Eh, but it's too hot today and Katsuki will end up accidentally exploding the trees because of them pesky mosquitos.
