The slavery remarks, however they are framed and rebutted, are drawing a reaction more intense than almost anything @RonDeSantis has said.

They’re worse than Ukraine-territorial dispute. They’re worse than the other culture war stuff.

The @NYTimes reporting by @ShaneGoldmacher & @maggieNYT in which its confirmed the campaign is filtering memes, etc. to influencer surrogates is just more evidence that @RonDeSantis is “too online.”

Also raises serious questions about who is in charge of comms.

.@RonDeSantis entire communication strategy and team needs to be revamped.

That’s where the reset need to begin.

Layer the trolls. Put pros (w/ nat’l) experience at the top.

I think there is a way forward for @RonDeSantis: 1. Cut the shit. 2. Do something meaningful on FL property insurance (this is a massive problem in RD’s backyard) 3. Hang on until the first debate and re emerge there and early Fall.

Putting politics aside for a moment, and with Memorial Day Weekend approaching, can we talk about a developing trend that must be stamped out — and that is man-floating, the act in which a bro lays on his float and camps out at the stairs of the pool.

Man-floating is the manspreading of Summer 2023 and it must end.

How the hell are we supposed to get into the pool without going through this guy, like he’s the bouncer at some club?

Of course, I see the ladies doing this, often in packs, but they can usually be tip-toed around.

But the man-floaters, who also often run in packs, are a menace to the pool scene.

My current solution is to high-step into the pool, kicking water on them.

This makes the entirety of the DeSantis re-election vulnerable to discovery.

Lawmakers reconvene this week for a Special Session to consider a new 30-year Compact between the state and the Seminole Tribe that would expand gambling and legalize sports betting.

Everyone I talk to says the Gov. is personally invested and involved in finalizing Compact.

He worked A LOT this past weekend to damp down dissension in GOP ranks with the deal. He does not want to have to sign a revised Compact.

Remember, @GovRonDeSantis has deep ties to Nevada/gaming industry.

Adam Laxalt was one of the earliest DeSantis for Gov. supporters. The Adelsons were and are major $$$ donors to his campaign. Etc.

Bringing Compact in for a landing is a point of pride for DeSantis.
