HTS (formerly al-Nusra Front) launched an offensive against #Aleppo. Syrian regime forces unable to defend the city, have retreated from parts of the City. As a result, HTS has been able to take over large parts of the city in a very short time. ⤵️
Aleppo has always been a multi-ethnic and multi-religious city consisting of Kurds, Christians, Armenians etc. Although the Syrian regime controlled Aleppo for a number of years, there has been an area, Şêx Meqsûd, which was and still is controlled by the YPG and YPJ.
The Kurdish forces are soon at risk of being completely surrounded by the forces of HTS. HTS has already issued an ultimatum to the Kurdish residents of Şêx Meqsûd to lay down their arms and leave their homes, but the Kurdish forces have refused.
Instead, SDF reinforcements have been sent to Şêx Meqsûd and the SDF spokesperson has stated that they are prepared to defend the city. At the same time, videos are circulating on social media showing Kurdish youth, women and men getting ready to defend their area and their homes
The situation is urgent. So far, no direct confrontations have occurred between HTS and the SDF. But attacks on region of the Democratic Autonomous Administration are imminent.
Şêx Meqsûd therefore needs our eyes on them, and a show of solidarity. All support to the Kurdish freedom fighters in Sêx Meqsûd!
Long live the resistance of Şêx Meqsûd! Serkeftin! (Victory!)
40th year: "Commander Agit lives on, the PKK continues to fight."
On August 15, 1984, the Kurdish uprising against the Turkish occupation forces began, 40 years later, a look at the context in which the Kurdish liberation struggle in Bakûr (Northern Kurdistan) emerged:
After the Second World War, the Kurdish struggle is intense and expressed in political parties in Rojhilat (Iranian Kurdistan) through the Mahabad Republic and in Bashur (Southern Kurdistan) through uprisings against the Iraqi regime.
In Bakûr, the Kurdish people are the target of fierce repression by the Turkish regime, which is trying by all means to make them disappear: Massacres, a ban on the language and all cultural events, forced resettlement.
🔴 Update - South. #Kurdistan / #Iraq:
Turkey stuck with preparations for operation in the Gara Mountains
As previously reported, Turkey announced a comprehensive military operation in the Gara Mountains this summer, but guerrilla resistance has foiled its plans
Explainer ⤵️
Earlier this year, AKP officials ramped up war rhetoric, highlighting preparations for new military campaign in Southern Kurdistan under the pretext of the "Development Road" project, a road, rail & pipeline route connecting the port of Basra with Turkey
In spring Erdoğan highlighted near completion of a security perimeter along the Turkish-Iraqi border, aiming to permanently crush the Kurdish Freedom Movements Guerrilla by summer
It’s summer now & the resistance is still thwarting Turk. expansion plans
Update on Resistance in Medya Defence Areas, Southern Kurdistan:
➡️ “Revolutionary Operations” launched by People’s Defence Forces (HPG)
➡️ Turkish invaders continue to commit war crimes
➡️ Balance of Resistance in November: huge casualties in ranks of Turkish invaders
Thread
According to a statement by the Press Office of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Turkish forces continue to comit war crimes in face of stagnation of their attempts to occupy the Zap and Metîna Regions in Southern Kurdistan
HPG Statement: "In November, the invading Turkish army continued to attack our forces by land and air in Northern Kurdistan and the Defense Zones of Media. The invading army used all its resources, modern warfare techniques, banned bombs and chemical weapons against our forces.”
Withdrawal of Turkish forces is even more extensive than expected: According to the guerrilla forces in #Zap, intense fighting, especially on the region's eastern front, continues with unabated intensity. The resistance is unbroken!

Except of Gire FM & Gire Hakkari, 🇹🇷forces withdrew from entire western front. The fact that they could't take/hold Gire Cudi, Şehîd Pirdogan & Gire Amediye is a major step backwards, as these areas are crucial for capture of Gire Bahar & the occupation's connection to Kurojahro
Eastern front: retreat of the enemy from Kurojahro and surroundings, Sace, Ş. Sipan, & Ş. Kûnci, which means that there is almost no enemy presence left along the #Zap River (except Tepe Rûbar & Tepe Şoreş), & other areas further east such as Şikefta Brindara, Çiyayȩ reş, Karker
We want to draw your attention to the case of Znar Bozkurt, who is facing deportation from Sweden to Turkey. His crimes: Being Kurdish, homosexual & pro democracy. #StopDeportingZinarBozkurt

The 26-year-old fled Turkey because he feared political persecution: when he applied for asylum in Sweden, he claimed to be persecuted in Turkey because of his identity as a Kurd, his homosexuality and his commitment to the #HDP.

Znar came to Sweden as a worker and was only 18 years old at the time. During his time in Sweden, Znar has worked, studied and has his partner there.

How the 🇹🇷 occupation policy looks like in different parts of #Rojava and why we have to strengthen the #resistance against turkish fascism
A Thread ⬇️
For years, the Turkish state intervened in #Syria primarily through the Islamic State and other jihadist groups.
After it became clear that the Syrian Democratic Forces SDF would win the war against Daesh the Turkish state realized that it would have to intervene directly.
The first target was the region between Afrin and #Manbij: In August 2016, Turkey began to occupy the region together with Islamist mercenaries.
Officially, it turned against IS, but mainly the SDF was attacked. The main goal of the 🇹🇷 regime was to isolate Afrin.
