Egypt has formally designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation on December 2013, after the bombing of police headquarters in the Egyptian city of Mansoura killing 16 people 2/
But terror didn't stop after the designation of the Muslim Brotherhood. Asplinter group called Has emerged in Egypt since 2015/2016 that targeted Egyptian security forces, judges, and government officials. They committed multiple terror attacks from 2016- 2019) 3/
One of their terrorist, Abdelrahmen Adnan Abouelela, 42, six other men were said to have manufactured explosives in a safe house flat to carry out 'terrorist' acts such as the bombing of electricity pylons and gas lines.
Before his conviction, Abouelela, lescaped from Egypt before being convicted.
He later arrived in the UK in April 2023, and surprise, surprise, claimed asylum.
Instead of returning him to Egypt, the UK housed him in taxpayer-funded hotel accommodation while his application was considered. 5/
In Egypt, however, he was found guilty in his absence of being part of a bomb-making cell in Egypt and given a seven-year jail sentence on May 5, 2015.
Still the UK didn’t deport him
6/
Abouelela was allowed to wander around freely in UK, and even posed for a selfie picture in January last year outside the Imperial War Museum North Museum in Trafford, Greater Manchester.
Home Office officials spent 17 MONTHS pondering over whether or not to grant his asylum application, despite apparently knowing of his bomb-making conviction.
The result?
He raped the vulnerable woman in Hyde Park last November. 7/
Abouelela faces automatic deportation under the UK Borders Act 2007 after serving his sentence for rape as he will have served a sentence of over a year in prison.
But astonishingly, he could potentially manage to stay if he launches a successful legal appeal on the grounds that deportation would breach his rights under the European Convention on Human Rights or the UK's obligations under the Refugee Convention.
That is simply outrageous, and a reminder on why UK should ban the Muslim Brotherhood as I argued in a previous threads
8/
Aboueleta is married, according to the Daily Mail report, and escaped from Egypt via sudden, detained in Turkey, then released, by the Islamist Erdogan's regime authorities, then ended in UK. He used to post "religious messages" on Facebook. So why a married man who post religious posts on social media rape a woman?
Because Islamists are taught by groups like Muslim Brotherhood that non-hijab women are bad and immoral.
Every girl/ woman sexually assaulted in Egypt was blamed for the crime, under the excuse that she wore "revealing" cloths 9/
That is exactly what happened in The Hyde park rape incident.
"You thought nothing of her" the Judge of the rape case said
'You were driven purely by your own sexual desires. You simply did not care that she could not consent" , the judge added
Indeed, the concept of concept in sexual relations is deliberately ignored by ALL Islamist groups. 10/
What alarming in this rape case is how Abouelela’s defence team said he had been diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorder and complex PTSD.
Since when PTSD is an excuse for rape?
Gladly the judge rejected that excuse, but let’s see if it will be used to stop Abouelela deportation!!!
11/
In short, this case sums up many 🇬🇧political and legal flaws
🔴Reluctance to ban Islamist groups, like Muslim Brotherhood
🔴Reluctance to link Islamism as an ideology with rape crime
🔴Allowing illegal migrants to roam freely in the country
🔴Legal teams use of psychological reasons to justify criminality
Time for UK to wake up and address the above and close loopholes in their laws to prevent this crime from happening again

Apology for some typos..

The short answer is no. I will explain in this thread 🧵👇
1/
Yesterday, many shared videos of alleged protests in Egypt.
Most who shared those videos, judging by their profiles, are pro-Brotherhood, Syrians, and others anti-Egyptian president Sisi.
But those videos were not recent, which raises suspicion that they are part of psychological warfare operation as Babak suggested 👇
2/
Those who shared those videos didn’t even bother to check that most of them were recorded in Summer, judging with what those protestors were wearing 🤷🏻♀️
Today, after calls for protests, many Syrians in Damascus and Homs have marched in the streets calling for civic and secular streets, amidst little coverage by nearly all legacy media
@BBC
@CNN
@SkyNews
They are rightly concerned about the future of their country amidst very legitimate concerns.
I will try to explain why?
1/
First, women rights
A spokesman of the new [Islamist] administration claimed that the nature of women doesn’t make them fit for all jobs”
Syrian Islamists seem to ignore the basic concept of gender equality, despite reassurance to Western officials
They clearly forgot the number of Syrian women who revolted against Assad and paid hefty prices.
@vonderleyen
@Keir_Starmer
@EmmanuelMacron
2/
Second, Christian minorities.
Although the new authorities in Syria allowed Christians to openly celebrate Christmas, with plenty of coverage on social media, there are disturbing reports of violence against Christians, especially the Greek ones.
Here is one example
👇👇.
One can call it “an individual act of violence” except there are other gruesome incidents, like beheading of one Christian, and shooting of his wife.
Fact:
Hundred of thousands of Arabs and Muslims have been killed in
🔺Syria
🔺Sudan
🔺Yemen
But they didn’t trigger 1/10 of the reactions we are witnessing now in the war of #Gaza.
Why?
Because, in Gaza, they enemy is non-Arab and non-Muslim.
Let’s stop kidding ourself and have the courage to admit that.
For Islamists, the crime of Israel is not just the “occupation of Palestine”, but the disruption of their grand dream of the resurrection of the Islamic Caliphate.
For Arab nationalists, the crime of Israel is not the “occupation of Palestine”, but the disruption of their dream of one Arab grand nation from the Arabian -Gulf to the Atlantic ocean
I am accused of “justifying occupation”, which is a big fat lie.
My guilt is remembering the long history of bad choices & wasted opportunities.
Remember when hijacking airplanes, killing athletes were the Palestinian answer to Israeli occupation?
Remember when suicide attacks were marketed as the answer to the occupation?
Remember when firing rockets was the innovation of the resistance?
None of the above liberated Palestine.
Why, and how bloody pogrom and kidnapping women and children will?
#Hamas
#Gaza
What is the best of the best outcome for the Palestinians from this current bloody mess?
A ceasefire+ few charity donation+ pledges to rebuilt their homes, which will take months, so they will spend winter in the cold.
How on earth can any one describe that as “a victory”?
#طوفان_الاقصي
At the end of the current confrontation, Hamas leaders will tour Doha and Istanbul, singing the songs of victory, while the ordinary people of Gaza will be homeless and jobless.
But hey, highlighting that apparently makes me a traitor 🤷🏻♀️
#Thread#Iran
If you just tuned in, you will see how Iran's TL is full of images and videos of protests all over the country following the death of #Mahsa_Amini who was accused of improper wearing of Hijab.
Here are few thoughts. 1/
Since I attended late Shah funeral in Egypt, I developed deep interest in Iran, which increased immensely, after I visited the country years ago. Unlike Egyptians, the people of Iran fully understand the pain of living under an Islamists regime and have no illusions about it 2/
Protests against Islamic Republic is not new:
-1999 Students protests
-2009 Presidential election
-2011/12 protests (influenced by Arab spring)
-2018/19 strikes & protests against economic situation
-2021 uprising of thirsty due water shortage
All failed to uproot the regime 3/
