The report is written by hundreds of climate scientists, summarising thousands of papers.
It's basically the world's climate scientists saying "If You Read One Thing This Decade, Read This."

A major new #IPCC report is launched today, the definitive publication that tells us about the chances our planet has for survival.
The press conference is now underway, after some technical glitches 1/x#IPCC chair Hoesung Lee presents the key findings of the new report summarising the definitive climate science of the last decade, and the outlook ahead.
The report "offers hope and provides a warning... that the pace and scale of what has been done so far are insufficient."

By ignoring socio-economic realities facing the people that the tech is supposed to benefit, GM Golden Rice could make things much, much worse for them.
